Ive had to drive to Boonaha couple of times. My GF relatives are out there. The drive is pretty boring, some fun parts but mostly its just long roads. I think there is a some point a good 1-2kms of dead straight road with lots of vision. Its hard to not go for a top speed run on this section.
Sometimes the GPS tries to take you a back way which is just a dirt road for a few kms - not fun. Maybe modify the route a bit coz its gonna be a lot of highway like roads.

Fortunately the route is the easy part. You got any suggestions? Could run down the coast towards Tweed or Byron and cut up through the mountains? I think 3-4hrs max would be suitable and somewhere where we won't loose everyone at lights. |

Ive really wanted to do this run. Apparently the final part Lions rd is incredible. But the entire run is great.
To finish you could go to Beaudesert way or back the same way. http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=d&s...,1.454315&z=10

Ok, this cuts out the higway and M1 and looks great with heaps of twisties and I'm sure there will be plenty of remote straights. Much better than my idea.
It's perhaps a bit longer than what some people would like, but I am up for it if others are too, because it certainly looks to be a worthwhile trip! What do others think? We could change the meet point to Surfers. |
