Going to buy a 330d m sport in Le Mans Blue

Well im sat here at home waiting for my mate arriving for the journey to blackburn to buy a 330d m sport from ebay.
The car has been on ebay for a month at £8950 on an 06 plate but not sold probably due to the lack of a couple of extras which are privacy glass and leather.
As i have a 320d m sport at present my plan is to swap the privacy glass and leather out of mine before selling it and reduce the price accordingly.

Im hoping the car lives up to m expectations as looking forward to having a 6 pot.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260885388525

This is the link to the car as it stands now and in a week should look totally transformed.

really nice car only think thats put me off is the miles, i think i would give a few thousand more for 50k car than over 100k, buts its your choice, everytime you drive you going to push it up 120k easy

Things will start going wrong on that engine tbh,

What tyres has he got?

This made me laugh "that is fully loaded with technology."

Is the price that good that It's worth buying to remove parts from your car to devalue and make it harder to sell?

Can't be a shortage of 330d out there.

Mate I paid about that for a 55 plate with leather i-drive and 70k so unless your desperate I would just keep looking for one with less miles and don't be afraid to be cheeky and offer much less than the asking price because metal isn't shifting very well atm so it's a buyers market.

Totally disagree with you about high mileage cars.

I never buy a car with less than 80k miles on it and in over 15 years Ive never had anything go wrong with them.

If you do your homework and make sure it has a comprehensive service history there's no reason why a car won't go round the clock twice without any reliability issues.

Ive always bought quality built diesel cars- vw, seat, audi, bmw etc and never had an expensive repair with any of them.

To be honest I love the way people talk down cars because of mileage as it means there's bargains to be had. You can save yourself 2-3k on a similar aged/spec'd car with higher mileage as people are scared of what's on the clock.

Bet I've just cursed my motor now!

I think it depends on a lot on the previous owner and how mechanically sympathetic they were.
Over 100k on a BMW you have surpassed the expected lifespan on the DPF so that's something that could cost.

Although modern diesels are reliable there is fair list of items that cost 4 figures which tend to be reported faults when approaching 100k. Just from memory you have the DPF, DMF/clutch, turbo and timing chain.

You pay less for a higher mileage car but it will be hard to shift and you will expect less come resale time.

Overpriced. Offer him 7.5k on the money or walk away.

It does look very tidy and the paintwork, alloys look very good. But it's just a bit high.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you buy it, just make sure your wallet is also not disappointed

bought the car at good discount and the drive is awesome.
The history is full bmw all up to date, the paintwork is excellent and he forgot to mention the extras it has like bluetooth, electric seats, front parking sensors, split rear seats and cd changer.
These are all extras above the standard m sport spec which would also have added up to a fair bit on the bill.

im going to get through the winter and have it detailed but until then im just able to chage the privacy glass as my leather is manual and of course the steering wheel and headlights.
The wheels will have to be changed as thry are rft.

Why can't you change your leathers over mate isn't the car you just bought a manual too?

Or did you mean your 320 is an auto?

Glad you got a deal you are happy with. Your username is a bit closer to what you own again now

I used to be a firm believer in few year old car that had done 70-80k proper motorway mileage, with impeccable service history and making sure there was no wear.

On both my 530d and 330d, things started going wrong around 100k, both gearboxes went at around 100k, turbo went at 105ish, egr,vac issues at around 130k, went through 2 waterpumps and 2 stats in 70k, injectors , glowplug relays etc etc.

I took the 330d from 80 to 160k, and the 530d for 80 to 135k. Something like that.

Both cars did start getting niggly and suspension did start to get on. I would honestly reckon the diesel money saved was destoryed by the repairs.

Will see what happens with this 330i.

hi mega

the seats in the 330 are fully electric and the 320 have just got electric lumbar support.
Second point i just realised is the seats in the 330 are split rear folding.

You can put non run flats on the standard M Sport wheels. No need to change them unless you need to.

Looks like you have the Logic 7 upgrade too judging by the rear door speaker grills Should find you have the tweeter grills in the front too! Check your headunit for the full equaliser and Logic7/Cinema sound effects

Are you going to LCi this one??
