My experience: Buying 162 wheels and tires from California
So I finally found the time to buy a set of 162 pulls from California. Since there was only one person selling his in Canada in the last 6 months I had to find someone in the US. A member of this board sold me a set of immaculate 162's with excellent shape runflats w/ about 10k on them. I bought them for $1400 USD shipped to Montreal. Came out to $1500 Canadian with all the credit card bullshit fees. Shipped them Fedex Ground. I received the first 3 wheels in 5 business days and since they had lost the fourth one I only got it 5 business days later. They had trashed the box with the tracking number and could not figure out where to deliver it. I had to call Fedex and speak to someone in Mississauga who then directed me to Montreal who found the wheel sitting by itself in the corner of the terminal. After slapping on another tracking sticker I received it the day after. This is the best part.....NO DUTIES, NO TAXES!!! Even with the full declared value I did not pay a dime. I was very surprised. Total cost, $1500 CDN shipping included for a set of like new style 162 wheels. Well worth it in my opinion.

If you have an account with a courier company, it is not unusal for them to clear customs for you and send you a bill later, some times can be as long as a month later. This had happened to my company a number of times. Part of the charge is 3rd party GST and they cannot pay on your behalf becasue their accounting department cannot source deduct it from their own GST return.

Hmmm
Hmmmmm I never really thought about receiving an invoice in the mail. Well since I have no account with them I will finally get to use my new heavy duty shredder.
