Exhaust trouble...

So I think this insane winter has finally taken its toll on my car. I started it this morning, and while it was warming up I noticed that only my passenger side tail pipe has any measurable exhaust coming out (the driver's side had a trickle of exhaust but barely warm to the touch).

I figure I most likely broke a coupler/joint something or rather on the plowline by my driveway. Is all this snow taking a toll on anyone else's piping, aaaand am I going to die from carbon monoxide poisoning (half-joking for, but also not sure)?

That's normal unless you performed the golf tee mod

Let it idle for a few minutes and you will hear the driver's side flap open..

Sorry, I should have noted that after driving to work there was still no exhaust coming out of the driver's side tailpipe. During a few of these storms quite a bit of snow drifted up against the rear of my car and even into the tailpipes. I cleared away the mouth of it with my fingers. Could something be impeding that flap from opening? I hear it click once very loudly when I first start up, but maybe it can't open fully?

Get a performance exhaust and that will solve your issues

Thank you guys for answering the noob questions and not crucifying me for my paranoia! I didn't the specifics of how the exhaust flap was supposed to function but now I get it.

Do you drive the car hard at all? Try rev it up. If you don't have gas coming out of the left exhaust at around 4000 rpm or higher then you may have a problem. Doesn't matter if the car is moving or not. Otherwise don't be paranoid...

Any snow that got in there would get melted right away once the car was on. I suppose the flap could have failed in the closed position.

Try LaserPower's idea. Otherwise Hadley 's idea is the solution!
