I checked it out and it gave me a pretty good idea of which stage my car will be based on your timelines. Mine went into production on Dec 12 and is on the paint shop right now Dec 18 (called the 800 number)

I've been looking for something like this everywhere and your page will just do it.

hey guys,
my BMW was built on Dec. 7th, and i called the 1 800 number, and they said that its "In Transit" and the guy also said that "In Transit" means that it has left the factory and is at the port waiting for a ship. Then he said that its gonna take about 2-3 weeks for it to leave the port at Germany.
Is this true? does it really take that long, or was this guy on crack? any of you experienced waits as long as what i am about to experience?

how do you find out what date your car got what, as far as production, paint shop, etc....my order date was 11/8/07...currently my car is "in transit" on the 800# and "en route" via oc...it's a wc delivery so I think it's on a nyk ship..so i know it's harder to track...expectted delivery dae is mid to late january...getting anxious!!!

so followed the instructions from page 1, used the dbh.de website, typed in the time frame of approximate ship date (sometime after 11/10/07, which was my order date) cross checked the list of ships from that with the arrival schedule into port hueneme and came up with the the sagittarius leader, arrivong tomorrow...hope my car is on that one, no other names showed up on the arrival list...if it is the time frame is correct for a mid to late january delivery seeing as how the car needs to get unloaded, shipped to the vpc, and finally the dealer...almost here...happy holidays everyone...and thanx nathan and all the other forum members for this great thread....

i ordered on 12/28 and also expect late feb or early march delivery. i kind of doubt that though because i still don't have a production date. my CA thinks otherwise so we'll see.

I found that the most accurate information you can get is from the CA. That said, you need a CA who knows what they're doing. If they tell you that they don't know what ship your car's on, or what the expected ETA into the final port is, you should ask them to check with another (more experienced) CA. I did this, and my CA found out about a screen on his system he had never known about!

This is not the first time my CA has thanked me for "educating" him. Perhaps these posts should be standard training for all BMW staff!

Call your CA... they should be able to pull up a screen like this...

I ordered my car (335i sedan) on Dec 15th...The owners circle still has it on order status...I emailed my sales representative today and am still waiting a reply to see how accurate this information is...Anyone else order about the same time...I know a few of you ordered about the same time, and I was just wondering about your car status...Let me know...

I ordered a week before xmas as well. Still don't have a scheduled production date and its going on 3 weeks already Late Feb seems like a pipe dream now, my guess is early to mid March.

Owners Circle is always about a week behind, so it's basically useless for anyone looking for "real-time" updates. You need to call your CA, and if they are not responsive, call the dealership, and ask for another CA to help you. I did this (my CA was out for a week), and they were very helpfull. In fact, the CA I ended up talking to knew WAY more than my CA about the tracking system.

Congrats! This makes me believe that your dealership had an allotment that the other poster's dealership did not. FYI... my car was in production three days after I placed the order, based on using an allotment that was close to production.

I placed my order two days ago and it is already in production. The 800 number says my car will be complete by 1/11!

My timeline so far is as follows:

12/17 dealer placed order for my 328xi
1/4 received prod # from dealer and OC showed as On Order

1/5 called 800# and system said 'In Production' sched to complete 1/14

1/8 called 800# and rep told me it's in 'Paper Prod. Phase' as of 1/4 and should begin actual production 1/10 or 1/11 and take about 5 days (not sure if that includes the weekend).

Dealer originally told me late January, but I'm thinking mid-Feb at this point if I'm lucky.

All this waiting even has me getting cold feet about my purchase! Not good.

Me to man, Week before Christmas I ordered, and now when I come into work everyday I have a ritual of calling the worthless 800 number only to yet again here "Scheduled for Production w/ no confirmed date blah blah" [Slams down phone.] I'm like over 3 weeks into this and still I only exist on paper...This sucks a$$!
