2011 328i E90

I found a BMW in Maine which has most of the options I want. I am in Phoenix, AZ.

Its a 2011 328I Stick shift RWD and it has 2 owners with 62000 miles.
Msports package, PDC, Msports shifting Knob,Navigation, Bluetooth Assist. No accidents.

And it has only one key fob. The dealer is asking for 16k $. And on top of it, i have sales tax and planning to ship the vehicle from Maine to Phoenix. The shipping fee comes around 1500$.

So with almost 17.5K $, is it worth buying it or should I pass it on?

Dealerships are a hassle. The car's market value is definitely not $16K. Paying $17.5K to get it would hurt... How bad do you want it? Does it have the exact colors you desire?

E90's are depreciating more with every day that goes by and you would take a huge hit by investing in this car. If you don't believe me, search Craigslist for what I like to call "bottom of the barrel" E90's. You will find 328i's for sub $10K all day.

I've been searching for around 4 months now. It is a white color car. I was ok with either black or white. I've been wanting the RWD, stick shift with M sports package with not more mileage and these three options together are a rare combination.

Fair enough, I understand the rarity of RWD/6MT/M-sport in these cars. I'm lucky enough to have 2 of those 3 in my E90. Like I said, if you want it badly enough and are OK with taking on the depreciation, go for it. I personally would not pay such a premium even for the rare option combo.

That's quite a desirable combo with all the options. I feel your dilemma. But the truth is the E90 quite ancient by today's standards. It lacks a lot of amenities and gadgets of current models. If you are buying the car for the driving pleasure and will keep it for more than 5 years, then I think it justifies the premium.

Don't forget a PPI before purchasing. You don't want any surprises after paying $1500 to ship the car and then find out it has rust.

Hard decision tho

Yeah thats the problem with dealers. He is not ready to reduce even a dollar and also not willing to make or pay for another key fob as well. With the shipping cost adding extra weight,I might just pass this on.

If I am planning to buy, thinking of doing a PPI with a BMW dealer nearby. He quoted 150$ plus tax.

value = model, spec. mileage, service history, year/age and point of depreciation

the rest is your homework, not anyone else's here.

If it is the color combo/features you want then I would cop it.

I hate having regrets and boy do I have a lot when it comes to not buying cars that I wanted.

No. Not only for the colors and features. Also for the driveability too. I get what you are saying. But I dont want to go for turbos because of its high maintenance. I should be okay with the naturally aspirated 6 cylinder.

Personally, a BMW dealer is the last place I would get a PPI. Go to an independent who will go through things like leaky gaskets and see if the water pump is throwing codes. The BMW dealer PPI checklist is mainly looking for cosmetic things and if all the lights work.

The car has all the best options and since it's in a color you like I say go for it!

Coming from a M-sport, 6-speed, Rwd Owner!

I bought my 2011 E92 328i with 57,500 miles in November 2016. I paid all in $16,700 with state sales tax, dealer tax, and license fees. This was in Tennessee.

Call a few more transport companies and try to find something around $1000. If you give them a few weeks to transport the car you can save some money instead of paying to have it asap.

I just had a car shipped from Cali to NH for $850. Send me a PM if you want the info on the shipping company. It was open carrier but arrived in fine shape. I asked for a top shelf location and they accommodated. Personally I would find a car in AZ. So dry and rust free.

I second that. I purchased a g35 from Ohio and even though it was in great shape and low miles, I had to deal with surface corrosion when doing simple jobs like brakes that took a lot of the fun out of the process

If you want the car go for it yeah you could probably find an auto for 12k but why

Settling on a car may save you money but you will regret it everyday

Why are you paying tax on it if its out-of-state? Financing purposes?

Sounds like you really like this car. If its exactly what you've been searching for pull the trigger... just don't settle. Let's say its what you want then at least squeeze them for all their juice. You better get a second brand new key for it from them. I'm not sure what else you can get but don't not ask.

Lci e90 328i rwd 6mt and loaded is a hard find especially low miles. Automatic you can pick and choose. If it meets your criteria don't hesitate. I looked for one 2 1/2 years ago and I couldn't find one so ended up with a base car and doing m-sport bumpers myself.
