Which bumper do you have? The installation procedure on the vid is only for standard bumpers. M-Sport bumpers would be more challenging?

They (Helix) quoted around $250ish but I'm getting it sent via Shipito for around $120.

Even with them shipping it, it would be at your door for $999.

Hmm I'm keen to see how much of a difference a FMIC makes on my car just pondering whether to DIY or go to advan and get it installed and maybe a dyno run afterwards also, then get the AR DP's on along with the AA charge pipe...

I think I'm going to hit Advan up to do mine, as I'll be getting the FMIC and an ER charge pipe put in, then hopefully a custom Cobb tune to match. Already got the AR's and running the off the shelf Stage 2 Sport tune.

Anyone here had a custom (protune?) done?

I don't think the gains are felt tbh Shane. Scootah got his installed and i don't think he felt any difference?

I am considering a turbo upgrade tho!

Yeah I remember him saying that, but there are numerous threads with dyno graphs showing 20HP+ improvements with a fmic and being tuned at the top end of the rev range.

Now you're talking, time to separate yourself from all of us 'pretenders' and get some decent power huh!

Standard Non M Sport bumper - Bumper itself is not an Issue , its the reinforcement behind the bumper that needs to be cut

Guys, TBH after reading up on FMIC and CAI i thought i was going to be able to feel difference , but its not that noticeble at lower end of rev range.

My car certainly pulls harder at higher rev's , but i guess i was expecting more down low.

Would i do it again , yes , however my expectations on power gains would be more realistic

Well oem items such as intakes etc generally speaking are only restricted at high rpm's, hence why power gains are made at high revs generally due to either DB/EPA restrictions of the oem items.

I guess its easy to get caught up in the marketing promises of 20-30-40HP increase expecting it to be throughout the rev range instead of 5-7k rpm peak power only

I had a few PM's questioning why I went with the AMS.

I was considering the ETS as the no trimming thing sounds good, but just looking at this pic the extra few hundred imo was obviously worth it:

AMS/ETS/OEM

The ETS is a lightweight cost effective option, but the cast end tanks, larger volume core of the AMS is what won me over and it looks damn solid with much nicer welds (I'm unsure if all ETS FMIC have welds this poor but they look like they have been done by an amateur in comparison to the ams) and mounting tabs.

Any quotes on delivered pricing Shane?

What to see if BMR's ER IC will be an option.

Bit of a thread dig as I'm looking into intercoolers atm. How does the J pipe work if you also have the 09+ longer charge pipe? Or is it a one of the other type thing?

The J pipe replaces flimsy / restrictive original piping.

I have the 09+ longer charge pipe as well as the J pipe (silver pipe shown below). Works a treat!

I am running the ER FMIC and the ER 09+ CP - all works and fits perfectly. Fitment was not an issue.
