How low should i go?
I ordered some kw v1 coilovers for my e90, big brown truck should be here on the 30th. Spacers are on their way too (F-10mm R-12mm). How low should i go? I want to have some travel to adsorb the bumps etc.
I was thinking 1.5-2 finger gap? What do you prefer? |

Ideally stay within an inch of the stock ride height. There's not a lot of lowering room with our suspension design if you want to maintain its performance characteristics. Crouch down and look under the rear of the car - the angles of the lower control arms are already almost horizontal ... hence you can go about an inch down before you screw the suspension geometry.
You can make the car look more aggressive if you lower the front a tiny bit more than the rear (a few tenths of an inch should suffice). Hope that helps.

No more than 1" from stock height if you want to maintain some compression travel and ride quality.

Does the 1" rule apply regardless of the starting point (i.e. the sport suspension has a lower ride height than the standard suspension)?

What about for track use? I have an xi and it understeers. Should I lower the front more than compared to the rear??
Also, when saying no more than 1" drop, the xi front gap is horrendous !! It's like 2.75" high. Would dropping an xi to about an inch from top of tire be too much and compromise handling on track??
