glad they got it all worked out

out of curiosity, do you have a separate fob on your keychain for the alarm or is it activated when you lock the doors with the BMW fob?

No separate key fob. It works with the regular BMW key.

If your car is being built in Germany and not South Africa and you are on the East Coast, I'd plan on 3-4 weeks

Mine was at 150 for a week, finished yesterday, today it is on the way to the port in Bremerhaven, Should be on a boat next week, 2 weeks to cross, maybe a day or two at the VPC, then a day to my dealer...about 4 weeks

I'm also East coast - New England

This dealer is KILLING ME! I told them I didn't want delivery until June. Why on earth would they have my car built now? They will have to hold on to it until then since I don't want two car payments (currently have my G35 Coupe 6MT until June).

How can I tell where it is being built?

Do SA-built models take longer?

Wow! Such sarcasm. You are a tool my friend.

Perhaps instead of one liners you care to actually say something of substance that adds to the conversation?

I don't know about you, but when I lay out over $50,000 cash, I expect a certain level of quality for my money, such as no paint defects and a car that actually works properly and was not driven inappropriately by anyone. But that's just me.

One more minor problem to add to the list. Yesterday I found out that one of the vents in the dashboard does not close. When you rotate the wheel to the closed position it only moves about 1/2 way.

Interestingly enough, when I picked up my '08 in Munich at Welt the car was perfect and I didn't have a single problem with the car mechanically in the 11 months I owned it. Had it not been for the paint defect the car would have been perfect. My new '09 M-Sport looks amazing and has no visual defects, but this will be the third time I have to bring it back in less than a week of ownership, for minor but annoying issues. I hope this will be my last visit to the dealership other than normal service.

I hope that's the last of the problems.

Does your car have the rear power outlets? I didn't seem them in Raikkonens pictures. Not like I even need them but they are in the 09 brochure I have. I was wondering if maybe they cut them out as a cost saving measure.

Thanks for checking. I guess as a cost saving measure they have eliminated them. Oh well, I don't have any need for them anyway.

Why did you go with aftermarket alarm?

He realized the OEM BMW alarm can be added from the factory after his car was in production. My car has the clown nose as I ordered the OEM Alarm from the factory. The alarm is $400.
