325i fuel pump sounds??

ive been getting a 'kurrrk kurrk kurrk' sound when coasting in my gears and as the car decelerates and also when i rev my engine to above 3000rpm (standing still) the same sound is produced at around 2000rpm and then 1000rpm. does it twice. took it to bmw they say its the fuel pump, its been replaced before at 34000 miles, 2.5yrs ago under warranty now warranty has ran out (obivously) andthey say i have to pay for the work, new pump, recoding, new fuel lines.

my car makes this exact same sound.

I would take it to a reputable indy and ask them to have a look.

Second opinion is always good.

+1

They often can 'over look' things shall we say. Indy is always good for a second opinion imo

Cancel it.

I trust the opinions of my local Indy miles ahead of the local stealer. The stealer gets it wrong more often than the local Indy in my experience.

fixed

turned out to be the fuel lines had some sort of blockage, the sound was the pump working harder and fuel surging through. changing to new fuel lines and an updated braket fixed the issue. car feels better now, less hesitation in first gear on cold starts and also revs out smoother as well.

car must have been semi starving for fuel
