Fanbois need not apply. What do you hate about your e9x?

I'll start.

I hate the location of the Volume button on my iDrive-equipped e90. It is almost hidden and when you do find it, too small. Terrible bit of design.

I hate how overly complicated the Nav screen is. Trying to change the radio stations takes 3 sub menus.

yeah, I still have not sat down and properly programmed my radio presets yet... I'll give you that one (but as a confirmed NPR junkie I *love* having a built in HD radio tuner, something I've never had before)

i also wish that since I actually have the billion-way power seats with memory that the driver's seat would slide back when entering the car to allow easier ingress/egress. I also wish that the telescoping steering wheel would come out from the dash a little farther, the seats would lower toward the floor a little farther, and finally in an uncharacteristic ergonomic misstep, when I do have everything adjusted as is best for me given the adjustments possible, I can't see the turn signal indicators on the IP as they are blocked by the top of the steering wheel, so I have the wheel a hair higher than I would really prefer it.

I'm annoyed that I had to spend the money for a Euro headlight switch to get a rear fog light (although I understand that most US residents don't understand that it's not to be used unless it's actually foggy...) Likewise for a jack, lug wrench, etc. For the price of the car I think the alarm should have been standard, especially considering how few parts came in the box. Likewise for the satellite tuner, and holy crap do the nav updates need to be so expensive, esp. when I can't even import my own POI files (like I do for speed cameras to the Garmin that I use in lesser vehicles...) I also wish that there were space under the trunk floor for a real spare, or at least a compact/collapsable one.

I still love the car. It's so fantastic compared to every other car I've ever owned... the only one that even came close was my old GTI 1.8T and I liked it for pretty much the same reasons - ergonomic near-perfection and a sporty feel. While the GTI was quite luxurious - this was during the time period where VW was really going upmarket and the interiors really felt very BMW-esque - the real deal Bimmer is still better, or maybe it's just the seven year difference between the cars.

Passengers always try to turn the volume down by twisting the left climate control knob. Noobs. I like where the volume control is but I always use the wheel anyways.

Its minor , but the stupid seatbelt arm. They always seem like they only worked half the time. I know there are easy fixes for this , but couldn't the factory put a little more thought into it.? What should be a convenience turned into a pain in the a$$

My biggest dislike is the lack of a spare tire compartment. Non-RFT + compact spare IN trunk = compromises the utility. I'm guessing they could have worked one for the 328 with the single exhaust but obviously they weren't going to engineer two trunk floors for one body :/

The central locking button instead f the usual lock/unlock button located on both front doors. The inability of the climate control to just let in fresh outside air. The climate control system period.

The funny thing is that the trunk floor is a separate piece. I'm a little surprised that some enterprising soul hasn't produced a new floor/heat shield/exhaust combo (at least for 328) to allow this... or maybe someone has tried and couldn't make it work ...

*This* plus that I have to remove the whole A/C cabin filter housing just to access the rear bolts of the engine cover... German engineers are not very practical people.

You guys are good, it seem like most of the things that have been mentioned I agree with. I would like a unlock button on the inter door. And a different location for the cruise control stalk it may just be me but often I flash my lights when looking for the cruise at 110 mph.

This one is easy - the Run Flat Tires. They are junk. They give a harsh ride, and offer me absolutely no peace of mind if I do get a puncture.

If I'm 300km from a city, and I get a puncture, I can't drive that far on a RFT.

Plus they cost more.

So now I have to drive around with a tire plug kit and a 12V air compressor just to get around the limitation of these crappy tires.

They can give any excuse they want as to why they went to RFTs but they are all lame. It's simple cost cutting for BMW - 4 RFTs is cheaper than the extra rim and tire of a spare.

I hate not having bluetooth streaming- (I have that with my e36)

I hate not having a timer on the computer- (standard on e36)

I hate having the cruise on the bottom left of the wheel instead of the bottom right! I always try to signal with the cruise stalk (e36 was proper)

I hate not having a spare + jack + tire tool + trunk-lid mounted toolbox (yeah- e36)

I hate not having two "consumption" computer settings so I can compare gas mileage if I change something (like my e36)

The stalk computer/rocker/switch thing is just cheesy- I like the clicky buttons on center console of the old cars

I also hate that I always roll down the rear windows by mistake- I would prefer the window buttons back in the center console. (like my e36)

No simple OFF button on the HVAC

Trunk button on key fob should acutally OPEN the trunk- its pointless to unlatch it when you have to manually open it anyway.

No dipstick!

No temp gauge + electric waterpump???

I forgot about the lack of a dipstick, good one.

I don't mind the lack of BT streaming... I actually prefer not having it. I bought a 32 GB USB 3.0 flash drive (pqi makes nice compact ones) loaded all my music on that, no problem - it lives in the console. I tried BT streaming with my Jeep (JVC head unit) and the sound quality is noticeably degraded vs. the flash drives even with the exact same files. Also I can then run e.g. Trapster and still listen to music at the same time - the audio alerts play over the phone's speaker but I can still use the car's built in mike to talk on the phone if someone calls me. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to set up my phone to only connect for phone and not media audio (Motorola Photon, the old one, not the Q)

I might be more annoyed if Sprint's service didn't suck so badly that trying to run e.g. Pandora was pointless, but it is. And even in that case, I could run an audio cord into the console.
