E91 335d battery

Hi,

In need of a replacement battery for my 2010 335d.

Any pointers? Do I need an AGM one and if so what’s the cheapest way to code it?

Thanks in advance.

coding would be done via inpa/foxwell nt510 or carly app and adapter,,i have got foxwell nt510..or a dealer who will take an arm and a leg from you..there is a way to tell if your battery is an agm,,but i forget,,it has a colour on it either red or black but i cannot remember so just do a search on here..well worth buying one of the above readers as the cost of it would be the same as a dealer would charge to code a battery..and just recently carly have just started to charge a yearly sub of £55 which is scandalous,,so i would suggest the nt510 as its easy to use compared to inpa/laptop..its also great for fault codes and can also do a dpf regen

If the car auto start stop then it will have an AGM battery. Most foolproof way to check is by actually looking at the battery.

If you see the letters 'AGM' on in then I'd be pretty confident it's an AGM battery

I wasn't aware that Stop/Start was even fitted on the E9X 3.0 diesels....... I swear I'd read somewhere it was only on the 2.0D models.

Realoem isn't clear on the matter - only saying that attention must be paid to repair instructions if the car has Auto start/stop. This was when looking for a 335d LCI.

Best way to check for that function is if the OP sticks his VIN into a VIN decoder. The presence of S1CCA means the car has auto start/stop.

Thanks in advance.
White = Lead acid

Black = AGM

If the battery you fit is very close in specification to original all it needs is registering. If it's quite different it needs coding.
