I just didn't see the benefit, maybe I worded my post too harshly. Most of the buzz I'm seeing indicates that Apple pre-orders are much more prevalent and more likely to be delivered on time.

RAWR it's timing out at the credit check stage! The servers are getting battered and it's gonna get worse as East coasters start to wake up

i log on to apple and reserve my iphone 4 with out any problems. you can log on to att and do the same. better do it now before everyone wakes up to reserve theirs.

You make it sound so simple, when it's not. AT&T's site still isn't doing reservations, and if you're lucky enough to get through the account verification of eligibility on Apple's site, you get stuck with a processing info screen for forever, which will time out, and you have to start all over again.
