Found this site earlier on the forum. I have got to practice hard over the next few weeks to be able to take shots of my soon to arrive Edition M Sport.

Any tips from anyone here?

I guess location and a clean car is good a start.

How much of this is 'photography' skills and how much is 'photoshop'?

It's a bit of both. The depth of field and sharpness on all of this guys shots is amazing.

But .. I reckon he's also played around extensively with the colour and saturation afterward and done some additional sharpening. For instance, I doubt that he really had a bloody great spotlight for the car.

Very skillful either way.

The shadow on the wall of the first shot is far too high to be lit from the left side

I think alot of photoshoping was done to those pics. And at least two flashes.

I see from the EXIF data that a Canon 300D was used (not the most fancy DSLR, but then those pics are a couple of years old).

Definitely. There is a 'flashlight' effect in Photoshop which you can use to add a light source. I think this is what he's done, because the lighting effects he has achieved just wouldn't be possible with a 'real' flash.

I've never tried this, but I may have a play about at some point.

If you do get photoshop I'd recommend this book. I've found it really useful.

I dunno, you could do that with a softbox on a remote in front of the car.

For the shot with the shadow halfway up the wall the light source would need to be low down and close to the car.

I suppose he could have had a real lightsource then photoshopped it out.

I'm surprised that he left the shadow though if that's the case because it looks a little odd.
