OEM sport susp. Vs coilovers

With a rwd sedan on the oem factory sport suspension... So my car actually sits a little lower than non sport or wad cars.... Are coilovers going to be worth it if I only want to sit another .5-1" lower?

I ask because all the reviews I read are people going from and xi or non sport suspension.... Not many reviews on people with the factory sport suspension that lowered their cars.

Looking at kw v1s... Just want to lower my car slightly from factory sport suspension.

There's a ton. Yes it's definitely worth it if you want to lower the car an inch as you'll retain more bump travel over lowering springs. V1's are a good choice for a DD.

Factory sport suspension is utter crap (way underdamped)... Pretty much any decent shocks or coilovers will perform better than stock, in terms of comfort and handling.

I ditched the RFT long ago.

I agree the factory sport suspension is pretty harsh and doesn't take bumps very well.

I just don't want my car sitting too low since I do DD my car. If you crank the v1's up the whole way, how much does that lower a car over factory sport? Or will it actually sit higher?

Bilstein B12 is a nice (and cheaper) alternative to coil overs for a mild lowering over sport suspension - and better damping for more control and a better ride over bad roads.

What is your opinion on a fun street car as far as:

Bilstein b12 vs kw v1

Or even

Bilstein b12 vs kw street comfort

Kw v1 vs kw sc

Seems like the OP is interested in the same thing as me. Slight drop with better handling then stock but not too harsh for a fun street car.

I like my factory performance suspension quite a bit. Factory fitment and OEM reliability. Modest lowering that get rid of most of the ugly front wheel gap on E92/3. And it drives a lot better than stock ZSP shocks. And it is not too expensive either.

Only downside it can be a little harsh over potholes, but it isn't any worse than running stock suspension w/ 19" RFT tires that I used to have back in the days.

I went from stock sport suspension to KW V1s and love it. The ride is way better and you can easily adjust the height to whatever you would like. I feel like you would ride near stock height if you kept it turned all the way up (I'm halfway down).

If I planned on keeping my car for a long time... like 50-100K more miles, I would go with the B12. If you are just going to keep it for less than 50K, I would go with the KW street comfort.

What makes you say that? Im just curious

I would pick the kw street comfort over the kw v1's because the KW SC have linear springs and adjustable rebound.

But i cam get the b12's for around $800 new vs the kw sc for 1800. Im sure the kw sc's sre better all around but do i really need them? Its an extra 1000 dollars. And at 1800 you can also look into a lot of other options.

I heard the ast 41000 coilovers are really good.

I also heard you can get a nice ride with good handling on konis with eibachs. Similar to the b12 kit. However im not sure what model they were talking about and if that info was kinda outdated.

My comments are based on the heavily documented robustness and long life that is offered by the Bilstein quality monotube design. However, those on this forum that have had both koni/springs have reported that the KW SC kit gave better balance between ride and performance.

I can't comment on the B12 kit which looks intriguing but agree with your second sentence based on my experiences. I'll add that after a year and a half with KW SC I've had to turn rebound damping one click harder to achieve the same rebound force I had when new, so I guess the fluid has thinned a bit. Will report back in 35k miles..
