Thumbs up Take a Look @ My Newest Steering Wheel!

Well, I've had a long history of swapping out steering wheels in my E92 - but today I finally found the best & last one I will ever need
  • I started with OEM Sport wheel
  • Swapped that for OEM MTech with Tri-Stitching & paddle shift
  • Swapped that for OEM M3 with Tri-Stitch & DCT paddles
  • Swapped that for Performance flat bottom wheel in Alcantara & DCT Paddles

And NOW, finally today I just received from Bimmian my new custom AutoCarbon CF/Leather flat bottom wheel with Tri-Stitch & DCT paddles

For anyone wanting a new wheel, take my word for it & skip all the wheels in between & go straight for this beautiful work of art - you will pay slightly more for this wheel, but in the end it will save $$ on all those other wheels...

Wait time for these is roughly 2-1/2 months, but well worth the wait. You must pay up front, Bimmian then sends a core wheel from their facility to AutoCarbon.de in Germany & the transformation takes place. The wheel then ships to you with return label for your core return ($500 additional core charge that is refunded as soon as Bimmian receives your wheel as core exchange)

> Grip diameter around top arc is even larger than M3 wheel. 3K Twill CF portion on top arc is inlaid only on front surface - rear surface is smooth Nappa leather with molded finger grips.

> Sides are mixture of mostly perforated leather with small portion of smooth at top of either side & sculpted scallops at 9 & 3 that fit your hand perfectly

> Bottom flat portion is full CF 3K Twill all way round

Wheel also comes with various thickness, separate Tri Color M Stripes to install @ TDC if desired (haven't decide on these or not as of yet)

Thru out the entire transaction (and as with any/all other deals I've had with Bimmian) - Ed in Sales was extremely helpful, great to talk with, & kept me updated along the process

On with the pics out-of-the-box - hard to get good pics indoors with flash, they don't even come close to doing this wheel justice. I will snap some more out in daylight & once installed to post later.

Kudo's once again to Ed & Bimmian for bringing a beautiful wheel to market

Interesting, looks great. Only part I don't like though is that mixture of the perforated leather with the smooth at the top there...did you specify for that, like it?

Wheel is made in that respect just like the MTech wheel - perforated leather on sides/smooth on top. The entire top arc of the wheel is in smooth leather, what you are seeing is the part in front that shows around the CF inlay.

Looks fine to me...

Put on some stripes to see if I liked them or not...

Had a couple different trims to go with -

Alcantara 'Individual'
CF ///M
Black ///M
Black/Silver ///M

Decided to try the last version to go with my brushed aluminum/CF interior

Installed Pics:

Looks very nice mate, do you mind me asking how much this wheel cost?

I'd recommend going with a Standard OEM colored Bimmer badge in the centre though, just my 2 pence

Amazing. You're also the first one I see to have installed the left vent OBD gauge. Great job.

You're right, it is blocked from work. I do however see one photo now, and damn that's a nice wheel.

Thanx! After driving with it for a couple days I'm even happier with it

Just wish I had bought this one before spending the $$ on the other (3) versions...

I'm still up in the air as to whether I'm gonna keep the M Stripes or not

+1 It is a little busy when you compare it with the rest of the interior. Must feel nice though!

That's a wheel!
First 328 I've seen with a working p3 gauge, did you get it just to read engine temp? I didn't think the compatibility would work

Yeah, I've gotten used to the xtra thickness over the M3 wheel & now it seems natural - I've had a ton of compliments on the wheel, everyone that sees it in person loves it

The P3 vent gage I have was purchased from Turner MS, but it's not any different than any other P3 gage - AFAIK they always work on 328, buddy has one on his also.

Data it will display:
  • Intake Air Temp
  • Exhaust Gas Temp
  • Coolant Temp
  • Boost/Vacuum
  • Ignition Timing
  • Throttle Position
  • Uncorrected Speed
  • RPM
  • Shift Light
  • Battery Voltage
  • Acceleration Timing 0-60/0-100 with memory
  • Braking Timing 60-0/100-1 with memory
  • Displays/Clears Error Codes

All above work on my 328 except for the Boost/Vacuum obviously
