I love my JB4 but..... (feature request)
...have the option to turn low oil temp protection off. I am one that waits until the car is a bit warmed up before I get on it, but I would like the additional throttle response right away and just the ability to do what I want. I know this is probably the safest thing for the car (having it in place), but I guess I would really like a way to shut it off. Right now, with 40 degree weather, I drove a little over 10 minutes from home to work and it never even got to temp in that time.
Again, love the JB4. I just wish I could love it more often! |

Haha, no thanks. Love the JB4 overall. Just think it'd be better with an option to disable. I did hear that there may be an option to have it be disabled until water temp gets to 160 degrees instead, but haven't confirmed. If it's the case, it may be reason enough for me to buy the usb cable.

The PROcede first introduced reduced boost with low oil temps years ago. Check with Vishnu to see if it's still an active feature.

This "feature" is already in there. Set FutureUseD to 100.
Your warmup blinkers will flash after 1 min instead of 10 in cold climates. Mike |

So now you are saying I need to get my hands on a USB cable for it, huh?
ON EDIT: BTW, why didn't you tell me that when I asked you about it two days ago? |

I wish JB4 made a "bling!" noise when it turns on.
The noise my car makes when I pull up the ebrake while it is moving I never hear the blinkers when the radio is on :/ |

So what you're saying is, the increase in HP with the JB4 isn't quite adding enough stress to the engine and turbos...
someone's been reading the turbo upgrade threads...

You can do much of anything without the cable. update interface, software, settings etc

The Load Target Limit Factor(ECT) table can easily function as a "cold engine" safety.

I'm sorry, but I've had several modified turbo cars (with stock and aftermarket turbos) and no other performance ECU limits the car's boost levels like this. You all can think it's silly and such, but that's the truth of the matter and I never had any issues whatsoever. If you can be pretty responsible until it gets to temp, there is absolutely no need for this to be in place.

I think it's great for those who are uneducated about the benefits. There are many people who flog their car out of the gate without realizing how much damage can be done, especially on a turbo car. However, I suppose there should be an option to turn it off, but I dont know why you would. Only time it let me down was when i wanted to run someone, but it was 30 F out and the car was on for maybe 2 minutes... so I'm glad it stopped me. |

Temp is 160 or about 4 miles driving. Expect someone who does not have that much patience is someone who should not be driving.

It is roughly 4 miles on my commute. Just happens that 4 miles is when the motorway starts! Result!
