I recently got an e91 328i with the sunroof and it was stuck in a halfway position. After doing the classic hold the tilt button down for a couple of minutes and let it reset, I was able to move it but the sun visor refused to close all the way. I held the close button but it would always end up about an inch and a half away from closing. I know the rails arent blocked because in the re-calibration cycle it closes all the way. Any ideas?

There is a calibration you can run with Protool as well, only thing that fixed mine when it went bezerk a while back.

Having trouble finding that in the Protools app. Do you mind telling me where it is?

I believe it's under FZD, and functions. Should be some kind of sunroof initialization procedure you can run there.
