No real change to vibrations personally, but ride does feel somewhat smoother! Some peeps have changed struts, apparantley Bilstein's struts seem a popular combo with Eibachs! Are you going for drop or wanting specific handling changes? or both? |

Why do coupe's have that huge gap in the front anyway? BMW should be ashamed of themselves making a sports coupe with 4x4 front wheel gap and a modest rear wheel gap!
Anyway rant over, my e90 also looks like the red car in your pic, and its only a 320d (not sure of weight compared to i), although it is a saloon... Who fitted yours, and were the rubber spring perches changed at all (they get a bit squished over time and can take an easy 6mm+ off the original ride height)? Are the springs mounted properly on the lower seat and located properly in the upper seat? I know they settle after the first 2 weeks or so but I echo what has been said in that they will not drop by as much as they would need to to look like the red one. |

320d is heavier than 320i, hence different springs for them.

I got eibach prokit fitted 2 weeks ago and was horribly disappointed with the drop.
The front and rear dont appear to have changed much if any. The m3 lower control arms I fitted though .... Absolutely fab. |

Once again I really can't understand how some people are seeing a drop and others aren't noticing any difference whatsoever? This is very confusing. I was going to get these fitted when I change my alloys but this has thrown it all out again. Why are these things never clear cut?

At the same time we have also had other people report a significant drop, surely there has to be a logical reason for this? OP, did you buy and get it fitted all at the same place? Have you asked m-style why the ride height hasn't changed? I'b asking for my money back to be honest! |

How can ONE spring set from eibach / whoever be supposed to work properly for all these different models?
From the factory BMW fit varying springs to each model, depending on model / spec / engine size and even certain options like sunroof and autobox which are heavy for example. You can see this if your BMW part man is friendly and you have a look at the computer parts screen and go to the springs selector page, after you select the model you have to tick what options you have and these will change the spring part number. That is why the BMW performance kit comes without springs and you have to get those separate as they are car specific. Again this is why you can't get spring tag numbers from realoem either. For me this is one reason to avoid generic off the shelf kits. The Birds B3 suspension kit is built and developed on 335i's so I knew it was going to be the best available. Sorry if you don't have a 335i Last edited by doughboy; 07-16-2012 at 08:55 AM.. |

Yes of course different ones for coupe or saloon or tourer etc, but do they provide different springs within a body shape, for example, would a saloon 320d or a 330d or a 335i get different springs from Eibach? I don't think so?

From what I can see on the Eibach website there seem to be 3 part numbers available for the E9x cars.
E10-20-014-14-22 Axle load front rated at 930kg E10-20-014-15-22 Axle load front rated at 990kg E10-20-014-16-22 Axle load front rated at 1085kg All rear axle loads are the same rated at 1200kg. 14 numbered parts are for 318i-320i petrol engines and 320d diesels 15 numbered parts are for 325i-335i petrol engines 16 numbered parts are for 325d-330d diesel engines (no 335d listed) I wonder if it's just a case of the wrong part numbers being fitted. That doesn't explain however the poster who had some springs fitted to his 335i unless they fitted the heavier rated 16 numbered part by mistake which again might account for no drop. The website definately states this in the blurb for the pro kit "Pro-Kit also reduces excessive fender well clearance, making your car look just as hot as it performs" so if it doesn't make a difference I'd say something is definately not right. Also the sportline kits are definately also listed as progressive springs on the website. I just wonder if the drop is too aggrresive on that kit and will cause issues over speedbumps, especially for those with front spoilers\splitters. |
