Looks to be a 3.5" harddrive inside. I can't say for certain if the model shown in the step-by-step guide below is the same Elements as yours, but you can match the pics with yours to check and follow it:

If it's indeed the same, with the harddrive power/usb board pulled out, remove the board from the harddrive following the instruction. In order to connect to your PC, you would need two flat cables, approx. 1/3" in width each. The power cable and the data cable have different connector shape. Easier way is to disconnect the ones going to your DVD drive and connect to your external HDD. Check and make sure the connectors fit. Do NOT try to jam in the angled connector the other way around. The two connectors are unique and you cannot swap them around.

JS-NA.E92 can most likely add to this and make this clearer.

I ordered an entire Stage II setup with sub for my E92. The sub will arrive Monday. Def a nice upgrade for our stock stereos and NO cutting.
