Decided on Dinan over Procede/JB3 -- childish to want the badge?

Is it childish to want the badge to go along with it?

Good Decision. I'm going with the S2-signature package.(S3 software, FMIC, OC, Exhaust, S3 suspension, etc) alot of maney tho. I'm planning on keeping my car for a long time. so no worries. Plus the latest CAR and Driver has an article about their M3 and S3-335i. Read it. I have a bit over 17k miles on my 07.

Good decision man. Some might not agree tho.

I get the warranty thing.

I personally wouldn't want to be running their stage 2 flash on my car without supporting mods.

I think that Dinan is a great tune for those that can dish out the money for it. It makes for a great HP increase and uses less boost to achieve it compared to piggyback tunes. This will save the life of the turbo IMHO. The warranty backup is one of the biggest advantages going with Dinan. No worries about taking apart the ecu to remove a piggy when visiting a dealer for service. JB3/Procede will give you better performance for the money but no one knows the long term reliability. I bought my JB3 even before my car, lol and so far I have had zero problems. That was over a year ago. Cranking out another 4k is pretty steep though. You can get a hell of a lot of mods for that money like a KW V3, intercooler, DP's and a Stett,/Simota CAI. If you have a bunch of friends that constantly surround your car that you want to impress, you have better options out there.

I've never once thought about stepping up from my car, which is why I don't feel bad about dropping the cash on Dinan.
Me too man. I'm keeping it as a collection car and intend to keep it for a long time, God willing. The Program intentionally drops the boost after pretty much over 5500 or 600RPM and prolongs the life of the Engine and Turbos. It's not as fast as JB3 or PROCEDE. and these two products are becoming software programming and engineering arts with what they can do(reffering to the Piggybacks). N54 FTW.

Since you already have the stg 2 tune, and want to get the dinan cai (probably the best looking and best designed cai), just get the stage 1 suspension and you'll have your badge I got lucky and got the cai and stg1 suspension for the 20% percent off even though they're supposed to be excluded from the deal. And the stg1 suspension looks like th best dollar and performance value.

Perhaps this would put it into perspective for you. I wouldn't run the Dinan flash on my car if it was offered to me 100% free. The Procede and JB3 are so far beyond the Dinan software in terms of performance and feeling, it's really not even a fair comparison. I had a 2007 335i for 3 years and i recently got a 2010 335i, so I'm not exactly new to the N54 tuning scene.

Back in 2006, I thought Dinan badges were THE business; now that I know better, I have a nice laugh at the sucker that got taken...

Nothing beats the performance the dollar input for the JB3 and Procede products. How ever, I'd rather have Dinan over them since I don't need such performance. I personally like the Dinan company because of their R&D.

Plus if Dinan was even to compete with JB and Procede, I'm sure BMW would not have the, even shaky now, relation with Dinan.

The Stage 2 suspension is great. Very similar to the BMW performance suspension but a little firmer with equal comfort (and adjustable). You could save some money buying the Stage 1 suspension from Dinan and then buy the M3 rollbar somewhere else. Do you really need a warranty on your rollbar?

I think whatever choice you make will be the right choice for you, but my only advice is to Make sure you read the DINAN warranty very carefully. IMO what their warranty covers and doesn't cover, isn't all the much better than the BMW warranty.

But seeing how your going in for stage 2 on thursday, I guess your pretty much sold on the idea of it, and wish you luck...

The fact that Shiv(Vishnu) has put over 60K on a Procede says something. I know Dinan covers your warranty until 50K miles but after that you are on your own. I believe these piggys are proven to last longer than the factory warranties.
