323i oil change
Hey guys,
I changed the oil in my 2010 323i today for the first time. Actually, it was the first time I changed the oil in any vehicle. Just wanted to let you know that it went smoothly and the reason was I used the BMW oil filter tool. The cap was on very tight from the factory. The drain plug was also very tight. On the 2.5l engine, the drain plug is aimed straight down. I looked at several E90 DIY articles for changing the oil and they all show the oil shooting off to passenger side of the car. The oil shoots straight down on a 323i so it is easy to judge where your pan should go. All in all, it was a very straight forward DIY (with the right tools) and I plan on doing it regularly (when BMW isn't doing it for free). |

I purchased it new but 24000km feels like a long time before the next oil change. Also, I didn't have the hassle of bringing it to the dealer. I will get BMW to do my 24000km oil change and I'll probably do a 36000km change myself.
