aero lip install and clear bra

Well this is the big week, I finally get my new toy

I recently purchased a front OEM aero lip from Long and I'm all ready to install but have a few questions...

1. Since I plan to do clearbra, do I need to wait till the front bumper and hood are clear bra'd and then have them do the lip off the car and I'll install it later or can I bring the car to them with the lip installed and have them do it while on the car? what do you guys recommend?

2. whats the deal with betalink? I know it holds better than the 3M tape, but is the 3M tape and screws gonna be enough to hold the lip in place at "high speeds"

finally, any good places to clear bra in NY (westchester and LI) that won't brake the bank

3M tape is strong enough to hold it on. Even at 'spirited driving' speeds. But, if you choose to go with betalink, I definately wouldn't have a clear bra on the bumper where the betalink is contacting it. The installers might find it easier to work with the aero lip while off the car. Especially since there probably isn't a pre-cut piece for the lip whereas there likely is one for the bumper itself.

It is easier to install clear bra's on panels that are fixed onto the car. When the panel is off the car, it moves around and makes the clear bra job harder.

There are pre-cut kits for the OEM aero front lip BTW.

FYI for so-cal guys... go to Aerotect in La Verne for your clear bra installs. Nothing comes close to their quality of work.

I have plenty of pictures of the entire job and final result. But there is almost no way you will see the clear bra of the bumper and front lip in the pictures as its barely visible in person. I had the installer wrap the entire bumper and lip, and the parts that could not be wrapped, it goes to the edge and its tapered to keep it discrete.

Let me know if you would like me to post pics.

It's really hard to find a good installer in the NYC/LI area. Make sure you don't gotta RoadBlock-NY. The quality aren't that good. And the 3M aren't really that good. They turn yellow pretty fast. You will start seeing it in a couple of months. Full Front kit install shouldn't cost you more the $500. Rallye BMW charged my frd like $700 to get it done.
