iPod kit installed at factory?

Hi all,

Yesterday I placed an order for a new E90 and specifically asked the dealer about having an iPod kit installed.

He said it wasn't on the options list (even showed me on his screen) but he said it could be installed by the dealership when it arrived. He advised me to also use the Aux connector but I really want to control it through the IDrive.

Reading the forums it seems that retrofitting it is going to be expensive (we didn't go into pricing). I'm in the UK, can anyone confirm if I should be able to get the iPod kit as a factory option? Does anyone know the option code so I can ask the dealer to put it on?

Doesn't exist as an option.

I found the same, as I read about it recently, and when I placed my order (for E90 320d, a week ago) I was told it wasn't an option. I get the feeling it may not be on the list till after Xmas.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll have to wait and see what the dealer quotes for this.

I read in a 3rd party BMW magazine that it is available for fitting from the dealer for approx £100 plus labour. I'm just going to go for the aux in, and maybe next summer look at the new adaptor. Good luck with the new car!

My local dealer quoted me £195 plus £119 for labour (both inclusive of VAT). The CD changer works out at about £20 dearer.
