Squeaking from Brakes?

I have squeaking from my brakes. However, recently I noticed under light acceleration theres some squeaking as well. Question is, is it still possible for squeaking to come from the brakes when Im not pressing on it. It sounds very similiar to the squeak I hear when I am applying on the brakes except it sounds a bit longer and only happens on light acceleration. If it is the brakes, what would the fix be? Is it the brake pads or is it more?

It could possibly be your sensors hitting the rotor...

I just had my brakes replaced for this issue. It was a pretty hurtful screech when stopping in reverse and a nice squeal when stopping at low speeds.

My SA gave me a line that if the noise isn't loud enough, or made while stopping from moving forward then they would not do the work. It was also raining and I didn't think it I going to have much luck with them repeating it with wet rotors. But they did the work under warranty in the end, for which I am happy. It was a pretty annoying and drove me nuts... I would try another dealer and wish you luck.

Edit: As stated by BKV122, They did admit all the noise was from the sensor

I am having this same problem... But you say I would not need new pads or anything? jsut simply take it to the dealer and tell them it is probably the sensor? the sound is rather annoying

It's a pretty simple and well-known problem. When I had mine, they switched the sensors and it was fine. I also had them change the pads because they were a little glazed but the problem was the sensors.

It's probably time to switch out those pads... If you want to get some real performance out of those BMW brakes, it's time to upgrade to Cool Carbon pads

Does anybody has the part # for the sensors? I would like to try it and see if it will eliminate the noise.

OK GUYS
I've had enough of this, its driving me insane. I am gonna call BMW NA and complain about my SA manager. He's the one that always talks to me. I never have regular SA's that deal with my problems. I just want to buy my own pads and rotors. Now, if I buy the OEM brakes and not put the sensor on, will it still squeak?? if they will, which brake kit should i buy?? Please help..

Easiest and cheapest way to fix it= remove the brake sensor.

You dont really need it there, just pull it out and zip tie it to you suspension.

Cavet- You will need to care of you brakes the old fashion way--looking at them

EXACTLY!! The sensors start to drag and squeek with only maybe a third of the pad used.

Take off the wheel. The sensor wire is sticking out of the pad. Just pull it straight out. It is only a friction fit. tie it back on itself and away you go noise free. BTW there are only sensors on the driver front and passenger rear calipers.
