Paint correction

Hi ,as the better weather arrives im looking for advice on where i can get my cars paint spruced up .I have tried to get into cleaning it but i find it hard work ,Who can recommend a company on the south coast near Eastbourne/Brighton. My local bmw dealer does full valets at £120.But thats not what my car needs because the inside is as new so is the engine bay ,I am looking at the bbk kit and new wheels (M3CSL) style .So again they wont need to be touched .I really just want a real good polish /clay /wax sort of job doing .I have a sg car with horrendous orange peel and at present no stone chips .Who can help with a company or contact number thanks.

Im going to the stealers today to try and get some advise etc on performance parts range ,as in whats available and when .

If you register on the forum at http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/ you will be able to search for a professional who can do the work.

If you want the whole nine yards, expect to pay ~ £300. Of course you could take it to the pollish guys down the street, but expect crap and swirls. Best bet is to suck it up, and spend a day doing it yourself if you dont want to spend lots of £££.
I just ordered a porter cable buffer, claybar, swirl remover, polish, sealant, wax, etc. Im going to set aside a few days to take my time and sort it all out properly.
Oh yeah, and car cover since my garage is worthless.

I know what you mean, good luck. Doesnt seem to be a huge demand in the UK for that. Seems everyone in my area doesnt give a shit about cars and generally disrespects anyone elses.

There's enough demand for about 10-20 "pro" companies all to be pretty busy on detailingworld doing this for a living, one setup up in scotland (where I thought everyone was supposed to be tight) is fully booked to something like July !!!

There should be 10-20 just in one county at least. And here I thought everyone just liked to go to the pollish guys down the street because swirls add character

Unfortunately not, only the E90 was done

It took him a lot of time and effort to remove the dealers/previous owners swirls

scooba, all depends on the condition of your car. If you paint is in good condition I could recommend about £70 of products and you could do it all yourself in about 6 hrs and end up with a great result by hand with no machine polish.

You could spend £200 to £300 for a detailer to come and do it for you and I a sure they would do a better job. This is great but if you do not maintain the car every couple of weeks with a good wash and dry regime you have kind of wasted your money as you will be back to square run in less than 6 months.

On a newish car it would take 6 hrs investment 2x a year to have a through wash, clay, cleanse, seal, wax - + wheels / interior and then 1 hr or 2 every couple of weeks to keep it up with wash mits, quality shampoo and soft drying towels + the odd bit of wax, sealent every couple of months.

I prefer to have the resources/skills necessary to do it myself. If I notice an imperfection I cant wait however long to get overcharged and underdone by some detailer. I prefer to pull up to my garage and fix it myself.
