I was actually going to call for an appointment to have my e92 done at Umbra... but if there might be any sort of group deal, I'll hold off for a bit... I was quoted 290 for Pinnacle, which seems awesome, so if i don't see anything materialize in the near future, I'll just get it done on my own.

anyone want to do tints for $120? I might be going to get my tints done with my brother either April 25/26. I'm not sure exactly when but the place is in Chicago. For more details PM me. Maybe if we get a couple more cars I can drop the price a little bit also. Lifetime warranty also.

Count me in for the Umbra Group rate. I talked to them last week and I was quoted $230 for tint for my E90. They also have a shop next door that installs felt so that your tint won't get scratched for another $100.
Those guys are Ukrainian! I might be able to pull some Eastern European connection thing... I had 20% tint on my last car coming from Ohio. I drove that thing for 1.5 years in Chicago. I live in Logan Square. I got a ticket. Went to court with pictures of my car without tint and got my ticket dismissed! So, I strongly advise all of you to take detailed pictures of your car BEFORE you put tint on. If you get a ticket, simply go to court, show them your pictures and tell them you are now in compliance and have your ticket dismissed! Vasil P.S. BTW. This crap about Chicago Ordinance is total BS. Here is why: http://www.cartype.com/pages/246/ill...ow_tinting_law UPDATE: 7-28-9. Andrea at the Illinois Capitol Office answers a very good question from one of our readers. Question: I emailed my alderman's office, and they said that even if Illinois passes a law allowing tint, the Chicago Municipal Code will supercede that law. So tint will still be illegal with a $250 ticket in Chicago until the Municipal Code is changed (at least according to my alderman's office)." Answer: NO that is not true. The Illinois Vehicle Code (Chapter 11 specifically) allows Chicago to adopt ordinances in regards to the movement of vehicles and rules of the road. However, tinting is not a moving ordinance but an equipment ordinance (Chapter 12 of the Illinois Vehicle Code) thus Chicago is not exempt from the law. This information came from the Illinois State Police. It's a small technicality BUT very important! |

I have my appointment tomorrow at Umbra. I'll try and put some pictures up for people still on the fence about going there. As for me... I got impatient.
