Its not useless because you will have a substantial torque increase over stock turbos and more power to redline but for the cost of it you want to run more psi which requires meth

It is my understanding that existing v4 units will continue to receive free incremental upgrades regardless of whether you upgraded to v5 or not.

that would be like buying the home and student version of MS office, which can be used on 3 systems - only to find out that when service pack 2 rolls out, all of a sudden you can only use it on one system...

pretty whack

Does it work for Euro Model cars as well now? Like all functions useable?

Thanks!

V4s will need to upgrade to v5 to get access to the new updates.

Its either stay v4 and never get new updates or v5, get free updates and lock the vin.

Correct. If existing rev.2 users upgrade to v5, they get access to all new updates, free of charge. And free VIN licenses when/if they purchase another BMW. They also have the option of backdating to v4 if they want to sell the unit and not require a VIN license. Then it's up to the new user to determine if they want to purchase a license for v5 or just run v4 indefinitely. Pretty fair if you ask me

Are all the previous announced features included on v5, like cruise control map switch, rev lights, etc?

It should be available the same day we start shipping. Sometime next week. We are just trying to get the persistent autotuning logic worked out right now. And some final launch/traction control tweaks now that the rain will be here for the next few days.

Stupid question but does the rev5 come with an USB to update maps or firmware or do we have to source a serial to USB connection?

I think you meant sell. I don't see the point of taking a hit of a couple hundred bucks so quickly for that! If I would have known prior for sure. But the JB has been working fine on a couple of my friends cars for over a couple years now and they are happy with it. So I guess i'll give it some time and see how I like it.
Plus since I just bought it, I get the JB4 upgrade for free!

Jb4 still doesn't have ignition timing control. Which makes it a boost controller, not a tune.
