Missouri Front Plate Question
I have not had a font Plate on my E90 for the last year and have been pulled over two times for it randomly. In my case they let me go on the plates and just ticketed me for other things.
My question is, IN MISSOURI do you just get a FINE...? Or does it actually take off POINTS too? Anyone know how much the ticket cost and how many points it takes off if any? Thinking of Buying the RHO plate but I think no plate is better than the RHO... Just wondering if its worth slapping on of those on, or if theres not points involved im not going to worry about it..

Check this Point System Violation Description Table. Missing front plate doesn't appear to be listed, so my guess is it's treated as a non-moving violation, and does not incur points on your license. A call to the Missouri Dept. of Rev. would confirm this, (573) 751-4475.

Any traffic lawyer should be able to tell you also. You could inquire about representation on the ticket based on the premise that you're worried about a points violation, nothing says you have to secure their services after a little fact finding... Just a thought.

Pulled over for no front plate about 2 moths ago. $55 ticket. It's a non-moving violation, so it does not put points on your license. Just pay it and be over it. No lawyer necessary. I just called the court clerk and asked about the points and she told me no - non moving violation. Easy peezy.

Wish they would just do away with the front plate in Missouri altogether. I must say, it's nice living in KC. Kansas doesn't have to run a front plate so vehicles in the area without a front plate are everywhere...certainly makes it harder for LEOs to spot my MO car without one.

I lived two blocks off state line road on the Kansas side for 6 months... I should have got my plates switched over then!

I still don't have plates on my front. I just don't go threw Shrewsbury, MO where the police are fierce. Especially since there is a police station in Shrewsbury.
