tires are only one of many variables.

higher speed limiter is also based on, but not limited to:

1. engine (power, size, torque curve, ...)
2. supporting devices to cool the engine (i.e. oil cooler, inter-cooler, engine coolant, ...)
3. transmission
4a. if AT, supporting devices to cool the AT transmission (transmission fluid, ...)
4b. if MT, clutch & flywheel
5. aerodynamics of the car

I find this comment confusing, isn't the existence of a higher speed limiter based upon the tires on the car?

Individual dealer pricing may vary, but the bulletin suggests 45 minutes for V1 and 3.5 hours for V2.

Thanks. I stand corrected, that's great news for N54 owners!

Wow, that seems a little ridiculous that it takes 45 minutes to flash the ECU. Plus, there is not a whole lot of 'labor' involved to plug the car into a computer.

Considering that they charge $70/hr at my dealership, i would consider that a bargain!!

Just got back from a visit to my local BMW dealer here in Waterloo Ontario. This pricing is NOT in effect for Canadians. Was quoted $1400 for stage 1 software only for my 135i

I would appreciate if anyone else can get clarification from their Canadian dealership on pricing please
Thanks

No thanks but I'll pass as well.
But you forget one important thing. When you unmarry the ap you can sell it. Not sure if someone will pay $$$ more for the car cause it has 20 more hp.

Makes the Cobb all the more worth it and this deal even worse. The Cobb essentially removes all worry of warranty, I don't know who would buy this package.

My other question is....
What's the benefit of stage 2 with the "extra cooling", since there is no extra boost in the hp with it? I know that extra cooling minimizes power losses at higher/sustained RPM, so does that mean that stage 1 can be potentially harmful in the long run, if driven too hard?!?! Wonder how BMW will play this..
Right, no hardware to sell if you desire. Also I think they are kinda admitting that 20 hp is not a big deal and will not all of a sudden torch you engine. The tuning community proved it. Extra cooling is nice if you track you car a lot but for the occasional bursts of fun on the throttle the oil cooler does fine even with jb,Cobb and procede.

My 135 already does this and I LOVE it!

I am waiting on my 2011' 335xi Sedan. They quoted me $1350+tax ($1500) for just the tune. I wonder if I drive over to Buffalo if I can get it done there under warranty?? They were not willing to budge on the price..I wonder if the price will be reduced in Canada?
I just checked at my local dealer and they quoted a similar price, + installation!!
Even the parts guy said to look into getting it done in the US for half the cost. Has anyone looked into this?
Cheers!

Where did you see that? My dealer is suggesting it's much more.

You will get a MSD81 with it if your are on a MSD80.... it's MSD81 only.... they will replace your ECU...'

Wondering what the exhaust sound is about.... Is that the sound the e92 has by default when lifting the gas pedal?

I hope somebody posts information about those without oil cooler. I know a retrofit is about 1300 or more, but will they install it for non oil cooler cars? I was the unlucky year which mentioned nothing about oil cooler coming with the 18" wheels only, since I opted for 17's all seasons.

That is some key info, I would love to know the answer too
I actually had some correspondence with Vishnu a couple of weeks ago when I first started considering the PPK and asked this very question. Here is the answer I got:

"This is Robert@Vishnu and I will be able to assist you. The Procede will work perfectly fine with your 2012 E92 335i DCT. Procede will also be compatible with BMW performance power kit and you don't need anything else to make this work."
