where would they be hiding? in the muffler? nah.
"here kitty, kitty!"

ii'm just think'n if the OEM N55 exhaust would sound as loud for the N54

Dave, thanks for the manual... Okay... I think your right... The way I'm reading it, the N55 has one (two stage / structure) catalytic converter. Looking at the rest of it, it looks like there are 3 silencers (two mufflers and center muffler)...

BUT: They don't specify which model... XI, I (E90, E92, E93).... SO it's a little confusing... NOR do they talk about any other N55 powered vehicle... SO it's all up in the air at this point..

That sounds like a good idea.. I think I'll go dyno. then cut off the exhaust, redyno and take it from there...

The absence of secondary cats means any aftermarket mid-pipe section would be obsolete, no? The stock x-pipe looks pretty well-constructed.

Out of all the other exhaust systems already available, why only the interest in vanguard, etc...? What about CP-E?? AA?? HKS?? etc??

LOL.. Im interested, or rather I would think all E9x owners would be interested in the performance gains (or losses) that any of the N54 exhausts would give to the N55 platform. It just so happens that the only person to report that they successfully transplanted an N54 exhaust to the N55 was frankie... I know I heard the remus will be put on the N55, so that is also something to look at... The more info we get from all the exhausts, the better...

My plan is to transfer my CP-E exhaust over from my N54. You guys are beginning to worry me lol

I'm just wondering how the n54 exhaust acts on the n55 since the n55 is pretty much a straight pipe up until the exhaust. So in essence all we need are aftermarket exhaust and not the whole piping....

it's prob because there has only been 2 noted exhaust tested in this thread.
we're slowly building this page.
nothing against any of the other exhaust co.
it would be great if other N55 owners would post up.

Dew it!
should just fit fine.
we'll add it to the list once you tested it.

worry? you..??..
there's so much leg work that can be done, but we're making
head way for our bimmers.

I've pm'd to Berk Technology - they'll have my N55 in their hands
soon enough to build an exhaust.

Another member ask'd if I would test fit something from Magnaflow -
nothing came of it.

there's AFE's filter, if a member wants to test it out -
I have the contact info -
there will be a little discount, when you pick it up.

RSD has an intake for the N55 in the works. We saw the prototype last week. It has a conical filter and airbox. Its going to be really nice.

Frankie and myself have installed N54 exhaust on our N55s. I also posted a thread recently with pics. I installed the AMS exhaust and verified not only does it fit the N55 it also fits XDrive vehicles, which AMS was never sure about even on the N54.

Any other 2011 335i owners want to confirm the lack of secondary cats as opposed to Juiced46's stock xi exhaust with supposed resonators (although from the shape I still highly doubt they're not cats)?

I haven't gotten my car yet or else I'd take a peek under. Just want to make sure if it's catless after the DP's so I don't have to spend money on the middle section.

Well unless Juiced is willing to cut one end off of his cat/resonator, we won't ever know... I'm not saying juiced has to cut the cat open, just one part of the pipe, either side of the object in question, flash a flashlight on it, and he should be able to tell if it's a cat or a resonator. IF their is a honeycomb, he'll have his answer...

BUT i don't see why they would put secondary cats on the XI and not the I, that would make no sense

I know after looking more closely at my own system (on the N55 E70) there is only the Cat on the DP, after that, there is nothing (no cats, or resonators).
