E90 vs. E92

Is there any speed difference say in a 335i sedan or coupe? Anyone that has owned both can you chime in?

Coupe weighs 3561 lbs (curb weight), and the sedan is 3605 lbs. so technically the coupe is faster I would say. Not by much.

Anyone help me?

I have a E92. Every time BMW gives me a loaner, it's always a sedan. In my opinion, the sedan feels heavier and not as nimble.

I own both... They have there ups and down.

The coupe has a louder exhaust since it has no resonator, instead a X-pipe.

The coupe is a a little smaller all around inside than the sedan.
Getting people into the back of the coupe is a PITA, and geting them out of it.

The coupe rides a bit harsher.

I remember watching a segment from Best Motoring where they tested a E90 M3 vs E92 M3 and the E90 was faster by the E92 like 0.01 second? That said, they are virtually the same.

Coupe: Longer, lower, lighter
Sedan: Shorter, wider, taller, stiffer

Definetly not bro take a look underneath one its pretty obvious why they call it an " X " pipe.

Coupe. Sexy, lighter, uncomfortable interior, better handling, easier to mod the exterior to make it even more sexy.

sedan. Cute, nicer than a coupe if tastefully modded, stiffer, more room, more practical, you could fit a set of golf clubs in the trunk, Just as fast as the coupe.

So theirs your answer it is not faster than the coupe its just less sporty looking.

that RESONATOR behind the muffler does not cross... it is fully divorced inside. tell me its an x pipe after you look in side the thing after you cut the mufflers out. thanks

For the E90 and E92, BMW announced they were able to make the E92 Coupes 25% more stiff than the E90 sedans. Most people would think otherway around because they'd claim the lack of B pillars, which the E92 actually has, and also some additional pieces to support torsional rigidity where the E90's back doors would be.

I think when the coupe first came out, in the car mags, there were claims that it is x% stiffer, etc. Even though both are now aging, it seems the coupe is a little newer with design....I think it looks better, but that's just preference...
