I didn't find 'zactly what I was hunting for with a

What BMW shop is best for handling recall work and some other minor repairs ?

Either one, as long as they can (1) clear the recall so I can renew my registration and (2) fix my passenger set throwing airbag codes.

I'd guess recall work go with the dealer.
Coding you can go to Sonic MS (Mountain View), Detail Addict (Santa Clara), Performance Technique (Pleasonton), Bavarian Professionals (Berkeley) plenty more can't think of the names, ask around for quotes.
