Check Engine Light, ABS, Traction Control, Red Brake Light, and Limp Mode
These error codes show up about once a week and will go off after I turn the car off and then back on, minus the Check Engine Light (stays on for a day or two). Any clue what could be the problem? I've done some research and I've come up with ABS sensors, DSC module, or the ECU. I already checked the battery and it's normal. The car runs great minus this issue once a week. Any ideas or previous experiences are welcomed! Thanks for reading!
(Sorry for the big picture, and yes I got gas right after this picture )

Does it happen when you hit a bump or just any time. My 07 335i would do it on bumps. The shocks were worn out. New shocks and struts and the problem is gone.

Check the battery terminals....
I was having a similar issue. When my car was in for a complete head rebuild, the tech didn't tighten down the positive terminal of the battery.

The battery is terminals are tight. I'll check again when I get home. It happens basically if I drive over an hour I'd say. I was thinking it had something to do with the temperature of the car but my mechanic who I trust said that wasn't the cause (checked the thermostat and water pump).
If it helps, the first thing it does is show me a yellow gear and go into limp mode followed by a red gear. Then 10 seconds or so later all the lights appear.

It would help if you had a diagnostic done and give us some codes. I had a problem with my DSC pump and it acted pretty similar going in and out.
The DSC is actually two parts. The DSC module (~$1600) and the DSC pump (~$1100). You can't buy the pump separately anymore. I had the car only 3 months when this happen and wasn't about to dish out $3400 to have it replaced so I went down the used part route and re-vin it myself. |

Hmm I haven't noticed the speedometer getting stuck. How much did it end up costing you to repair the DSC pump? Did you do it yourself or did you have a shop do it? Also, I don't have the codes but my mechanic read the codes and it basically gave him like 5 codes and they were all related to the lights that showed up. (ABS, DSC, trans)

I changed myself because dealer or shops won't be able to re-vin with the software they have.
$300 for new DSC module with pump used from ebay UK. Need to bleed brakes after done so I bought tools and fluid for that. ~$100 Now the not so straight forward part. The software and cables. For your car ~$30 (newer BMWs need ~$100 cable) for cable and free download of software. The time it takes to install software, learn it, and not bricking your computer to re-vin DSC - $priceless. I will see if I can get you some codes from diagnosis report that I had. |

I'm confused. If you brought your car to a BMW certified mechanic why are you posting questions for answers on this site?
What is he saying about fixing your car? |

You will see codes (ABS/DSC/Brake only) that this reference will help you out on.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=600491&page=2 You mechanic will most likely tell you that he pulled 5DFO 5DF1 Also the first thing to check is your steering sensor as that can cause the trifecta of lights you have and not anything to do with the ABS/DSC/Brake Light... |

This might be kind of dumb, but have you checked your Brake Fluid level? I had a leak once i upgraded lines, and once i was low on brake fluid, the DSC, ABS, and hand-brake lights all popped up. Got my fluid filled, lines tightened, and all the lights went away...
