VA tint laws

Can someone confirm that Va is going to change the tint law from 50% to 35%? I have heard this from many friends but before I tint my windows I need to know that indeed the law is going to change. I think I heard that it will change July 1 of this year.

Seeing as I was pulled last night I can certainly confirm this.... Actually the officer stated that it was 50 in the front and 35 in the rear then. No ticket so I was lucky... Seeing how I am moving to NC next month I will hold off before changing anything.

I did find some mention of it here:

http://www.fairfaxunderground.com/fo...15/512710.html and http://lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp...28+&Submit2=Go.

It is unclear where it ended up.

I personally think you should talk to an optometrist about getting the form needed for DMV. If they happen to be a family member, or family friend, all the better.

Is there any change for people who already have the sunshading exception? I would love to go to 20% tint legally.

Penn I just got mine done. I talked to my tint guy and he did my girlfriends car 35% all the way around and he said he never has any problem with 35 since all of his cars are like that. I got mine done state law which is 50% front driver and passenger and then 35% passenger rear windows and rear window its self. Looks a lot better than I thought it would, take a look at mine before you decide.

It did not pass.

The progress of the bill is HERE.

"Passed by indefinitely" is basically a way for the committee (Senate Transportation Committee, in this case) to table the bill before it goes to vote. No vote, no pass. So it's dead for this session at least.
