Comments on these potential lease deals for a 335i coupe . . .
Been negotiating for a space gray 335i coupe for a couple of weeks and have two competing deals on the table. I intend to lease the car (let’s leave debates about this issue for a later time) for 3yr/10k.
Car and options at invoice (without maco): Base car: $37,715 ($40,800 msrp) prem sport cold met paint ipod dest Dealer invoice (again, without maco): $43,290 MRSP: $46,850 Both dealers claim maco fees in the range of $400+ Dealer A: Out the door price (does not include tax and registration): $44,976 with free mats Amt. due at lease inception: $1,818 MF: .00285 (full .0004 dealer mark-up) Monthly payment: $753 Dealer B: Out the door price (does not include tax and registration): $45,360 with mats (I’m being charged for them) Amt. due at lease inception: $1,802 MF: .00265 (.0002 dealer mark-up) Monthly payment: $754 A couple of questions. First, do these qualify as decent deals? Second, unless I’m missing something, no real advantage here in either deal. Leaving the issue of multiple MSDs off the table, Dealer A’s refusal to give a little on the MF completely negates the great out the door price they are giving me. They simply refuse to budge. Dealer B won’t budge on price but will give on MF (at least a bit). Additional thoughts? |

Just to clarify, the monthly payment quoted above INCLUDES tax. Dealer B has now agreed to match Dealer A on price with the reduced MF (.00265), dropping the monthly payment to $675 before tax. I know I'm hitting bottom lines due to the fact that 3 different dealers have refused to match this deal and Dealer A (who I've had a long-standing relationship with) has refused to match and walked away from the negotiations. |
