HOW TO (REPLACE NAV DVD) ... for 2006 to 2008 update

This is to help those who don't know yet how to change the DVDs in their NAVs... (PROPER WAY TO CHANGE THE DVD IN YOUR NAV):

- First bring your car out in an open area (no obstruction above)

- While your car is running (i mean while the engine is running)
eject the old DVD, after that it should say "please insert dvd"...

- Insert new DVD to your drive as instructed and it should say
(this is a new dvd please turnoff your car and leave it for 5 minutes...
make sure you leave your car and take the keys with you for 5 minutes)

- After 5 minutes go back to your car and re-start your engine...
your NAV should bootup automatically

Note: If your Nav says disc error... it means your DVD is damage or currupted... check for scratches or dirt on your DVDs...

Good Luck Guys! and drive safe... (don't drive like a "villain"...)

Anyone looking for a copy of the 2012 DVD NAV update?... I still have a couple of sets left P.M. me

please note this only works on 2006 to 2008 CCC DVD base Navs (only sells as a set) this is not OEM, this is a copy (downloaded version)... but mine works like a charm...

Note: I can not duplicate anymore after this sets becoz my dvd burner on my laptop burned out... no more burning for me after this sets...

No my friend 2009 to onwards requires a different procedure ... because it is a newer CIC NAV ... You need to search the forum for other threads and torrents for the CIC NAVs (There is alot)

No - you can update your 2006 with a later (2012) disc using the procedure outlined. But you cannot update a 2009 or later BMW by simply buying disc as they switched to a HD based map system.

are you using verbatim brand discs? those seem to be the ones to use.

Will this procedure work if I update my 2008 E93 from the US map to Europe? I brought my car to Europe.
