So I never got the reboot message but it rebooted automatically. Maps worked upon reboot. When I take the DVD out, it tells me to insert it before I can see maps again. Should I assume everything has been updated? I created two DVDs using two different discs. The system rebooted the first time, but did not the second time...
I also noticed there is a "Speed Traps" display option that I do not remember seeing in the 2010 disk. Can anyone confirm this? Last edited by bimmertt; 12-10-2010 at 09:24 PM.. |

Switching to the DL, the only other media I had, worked. That's the only reason why I used it. Quote:
Now with the new 2011 disc, I don't have these problems. It could have been the age/condition of the disc. I'm sure those potholes didn't help.... Quote:
However, I found that if you go to "Information," "On location," you can search for speed traps under "Auto and....." or something. It's the first one I believe. You then have to route to any of the speed trap locations and then they will appear on the maps. I don't think the search range matters. I first turned them on at home in NJ (searched 10 mile radius), and yesterday when I drove back to school in Philly, they were along I-95 and 76 the whole way. I also tested if they would stay there if I turned the car off.....they stay! |

Speed Traps and Red Light Cameras are under the Car and Travel section. Same place gas stations, restaurants, etc. are.

Used Memorex DVD-R media and burned the images with Roxio Creator DE 10.3. Inserted disk in DVD slot in car, re-started in 5 minutes, then came up immediately. Thanks everyone and now the Salvation Army is $20 richer

Did anyone buy/post the 2011 BMW Navigation DVD - HIGH CDs for those of us with older BMWs?
On a side note, I would never buy another BMW nav system again. The nav systems in my buddy's Accord is worlds better. Heck, my Garmin is world's better. My iPhone is world's better (not really since it doesn't have turn by turn but whatever). That is all...lol |

you are comparing a 10+ year old nav system if you need the CDs (7+ years old if you are referring to DVD-HIGH). Even though the maps suck, i prefer the bmw system over the nav system in my Lexus.
My downloads finished last night!! |

That was probably a local issue, I've seen multiple connections with each receiving >1MB/s just from me. (I've been seeding ~24/7 with about ~100 GB up on the east and ~50 GB up on the west)

GenePoole,
THANKS!!! Perfect perfect. Downloaded, Burned on a lightscribe disk with the label, it worked perfectly yesterday, then today when I turned on my car I heard a clicking noise as if it was stuck!! I pressed eject, and it didnt comeout!! after like a few minutes it came out though... It was probably the disk, I'll burn it again and if it doesn't work again, I'll try a normal dvd. Did anyone else try it on a lightscribe? How is it? Works fine? |
