18" vs 19" rim performance
Recently I have been looking to get some new rims. Im having a tough time deciding because all the rims I like are 19". I want to have the best performance possible so im really trying to find 18" rims. About how much difference is there in performance between the two?

i think it's mainly weight and comfort, assuming most of your driving is on the street.
personally, i think the look of 18s with beefy tires is great. i suppose you could say with 19s, you'd have less sidewall flex |

I just really like the Linea Corse 818. I want 18x10 or 18x10.5 rear and 18x8.5 front. I just cant find any in that size that look good.

everyone loves 19's, but its a sacrifice for drivablity. Tires also cost more. With less sidewall they also bend/crack more easily. Good luck with your decision.

Yea, I really like those, but every site that has them only seems to carry 19's in the F14. If any vendor sees this and sells F14's in 18x10 and 18x8.5 please PM me. |

Well, the m3's come with 19's, so no one can really say that they are BAD for performance. But will you have a different feel on an 18? a little. Will there be a BIG difference in performance. No. If you talk about having the same exact wheel in 18 vs 19 and same tires, but matching them to have the same overall diameter, you can factor a little bit of weight difference (every lb on the wheels/tires is like adding 4lbs of extra weight in side the car) and just like above, you will sacrifice side wall. I went from 18's to 19's but they were different overall, so I can't give a fair comparison, but I will tell you that the only difference I felt was that I felt like I was riding a tiny bit higher since the overall diameter was a little bigger. It was probably more mental than anything.

I replaced my OEM M Double Spoke 19s with OEM M Double Spoke 18s on my M3 and I think the performance is better and the 18" wheels look better too. Any wheels bigger than 18” look like ridiculously oversized wagon wheels to me now.

19s are not as bad as people make them out to be. Just go 245/275 XL and you'll have enough sidewall to soak up the bumps.
20s though... I'd be wary.
