Remus is on the way!
Yay, finally got insurance organised for an exhaust mod.
I have advised AAMI that the car has a modified exhaust, there were no further questions and it is on the policy, sounds good to me! Remus axle back with 84mm quads, not the ACS style tips like in this vid. Quite reasonable at $2,300 too. Doesn't sound like they go beyond 7k revs in this vid for some reason. The Kreis-sieg unit will be $10,000+ which is just silly...Sorry Kimmy Come on Mike, your turn!!! [u2b]SDoaCPNFSAY&eurl[/u2b]

Good one Tom . Glad you sorted the insurance business out in the end with minimal fuss.
I'm still undecided between the Eisenmann Sport/OEM and Remus. When you put your money down there will be no Remus Sytems left in the country (there is only one in stock ATM) ... so that does take the heat off my decision for a while. I prefer the Remus tips to the Schnitzer tips. The bloke at SoutherBM says the Remus tips make the stock ones look puny. He also says the owner of the Jerez Black car they fitted is "over the moon" about his Remus. |

Erik at Bavariacars in Gladesville always raves about Remus, he's been trying to get me to fit one up to my earlier model M3.
I think he's fitted one up to a customer's car who has an E92 and E46 M3 from memory, good value for money with great sound. |

The Remus was installed this morning and I am very happy with it.
This is not an attention-seeking exhaust, the differences I note are a more serious idle, a much improved <4000rpm sound, that classic melodic V8 sound is evident, whereas in stock form it has been muffled for some reason. On overrun there is a delicious burble and pop which is again not evident in the stocker. There is a modest increase in noise in the top end but it is not excessive in the cabin, put the windows down however and it is quite loud when you pass a solid object (my object of choice = tram) at high RPMs. The installer used the words 'phat' and 'sounds tits'. Mike I would thoroughly recommend the Remus because it is: - well priced - attractive - sweet idle - greatly enhances the sound of the first half of the rev range - improves top end without sounding excessively loud - does not impact NVH levels at legal cruising speeds Photos when car is clean!

^ Glad you're pleased with it Tom
I'm still undecided, but leaning further towards Remus ... you're recommendation helps alot. I just want to see what the blokes from IND have to say when they fit the Eisenmann Sport system they promised a couple of weeks ago. |

Maybe, the drone from the fake one is shitting me big time, especially at 2200-2500 rpm, but the sound when outside of the car at WOT is pure sex.
I will see if I get my refund and then I'll make a call on it, given I've spent a fortune this month on mods. Problem is most vendors don't give you accurate sound clips ... may even do something custom. |

Glad to hear you are happy with the Remus system. I've been wanting to do an exhaust upgrade but I'm concerned of how much drone there will be. On a 6 cyl E36 I had years back, I did a custom exaust on that which droned badly. Surprisingly the exhaust shop said to bring it back and they would rectify that. What they did was insert steal wool through the tips and poked it into place. It certainly fixed the drone but I sold the car within 6 months of that so I dont know how long that would be good for.

I am also considering a Remus system but as vgr said i am worried about droning. After listening to a few clips i could just imagine how happy you are OZ.
