I felt the same way. It felt like I was driving my old 94 rice rocket civic with Borla exhaust. I like more engine sound and less drone.

Well I took mine back to Midas to get it "fixed". They welded all the way around the tip and I'm still getting that annoying whistling sound. I'm not sure that I love the sound of the exhaust, but I can't get over the whistling to evaluate it. Any thoughts on what would cause it?

some say it could be the tips that were used that cause that whistling noise.

Perhaps that's the cause. They're super cheap Autozone $13.99 specials. I'll do what I can do see if I can silence the whistling to get a fair assessment of the MD. Thanks for the idea.

I Just ordered my pipes today. I'll hopefully have them installed within a week. I'll post a video and some pics on here as soon as I do.

Fresh installed today!

Scheerspeed, you are my hero! Love this mod. cost me $165 for everything out the door. I highly recommend this mod. It sounds very aggressive, no cabin drone. The sound kinda reminds me of my old E36 m3 with a Remus.

Enjoy

I REALLY WAS LOST I DIDNT KNOW HOW I WANTED TO SET IT UP. BUT AFTER READING THIS THREAD AND LISTING TO SCHEERSPEED EXHAUST ON YOU TUBE I KNOW THAT is THE PERFECT SOUND THAT I WANT ON MY CAR. BENIFITS OF THIS MOD.THE STOCK MUFFLER Weight ABOUT LIKE 35-45LBS. SO I TOOK OFF CLOSE TO 40 LBS OFF AND THE NICE THING ABOUT THE SOUND IS WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS PETAL IT SCREAMS. IF YOU DONT STEP ON IT IT’S QUITE. SO IT ONLY Loud WHEN YOU WANT IT TO BE. I DEFIANTLY FEEL MORE BOOST AT HIGH SPEEDS. I KNOW I GOT SOME HP GAIN. I would highly recommend this to anyone. I give it up. Im happy with the results.

here is the sound clip on you turbe

I'm with you guys. Too much crackling and poping for me. A nice deep smooth sounding exhaust would more to my liking.

I am interested in a muffler delete.

I just bought Flow Master-15369 it is a 3.50" Dual Tip, 2.50" Pipe Dia. x 7.50" Length, Angle Cut, Double Wall, Rolled Edge, Flowmaster Logo Embossed, Weld-on.

I am worried that I am going to make my car sound like crap or worse like a rice rocket. Guys if you have done this and live in or near San Diego I would love to hear this.

Its so hard to hear on the sound clips. To be honest they all kinda sound the same online.

I did the muffler delete a couple weeks back and it was quieter than I expected. I wanted it a little louder so I did a resonator delete today. Now I fear it is too loud. Anybody have suggestions for a happy medium on the noise without breaking the bank?

So, my original plan was to delete the muffler/resonator and throw a magnaflow muffler in place. Unfortunately the muffler I had was the wrong size so I figured I would at least get the muffler deleted and throw some tips on in the mean time. I'm hooked. I can't believe how good the car sounds now just by something so simple. I'm very satisfied with the result. I may still do some more tweaking in the future but for now I'm extremely happy with the way things turned out. Best $65 I've spent on this car so far.

would a muffler/resonator delete affect a lease as long as i keep everything that is cut off and put back on? can a dealer penalize you for any mods you do during the lease even though they are theoretically "reversible?"

Sorry if this was already asked but has anyone done a baseline dyno comparison? I love the sound but it would be cool to know that you're also gaining a few extra ponies by doing this mod.

So has anyone done a before and after with this particular mod?
