Nav and I-drive crashed !!! WTF!!!

Ok what gives is BMW pushing some button thru the sos phone to crash the NAV/Idrive !!! After reading some of the post on here it seems strange that these things are crashing so often the same way! Mine started by resetting it self then just crashed tried the three button reset work once then the next time did not work but the fan and lights on dvd player stay on even when car is shut off i had to pull the fuse for the dvd to turn off the fan/light. So if the system crash for the CIC/CCC how is the dash still getting info on the car such as warning, oil, etc...

How can one tell if it is the CIC/CCC or just the DVD player?

Thanks for any help on this!

It's the CCC DVD drive. I replaced mine at Bavarian Auto for $150.

It's like in computer you have Ctrl+ Alt+Del - if you car has iDrive and you need hard reset - you need to press at the same time Power + Eject button for CD + Eject button for Nav DVD

CCC (in your 2006) is complete device which mainly gives you sounds in your car and let you see many information there, but has nothing to do with the proper operation of your vehicle. So basically you don't need it, when you diconnect this your car will be still working without any issues.
Radio is built in and also DVD player for Navigation disc, so you have to replace all device what costs much. You can alswo try to fix this up, you should find someone who can do it. Generally it is known issue.
