(dont flame me about the warranty....I KNOW)
I've seriously thought 100 times about how someone slick (cough *terry* cough) should find away to chip the Dinan, that way when "issues appear" like that 6th cyl fry that someone experienced, I can just take the JB out and say that the boost spike came from the reflash. It makes perfect sense to me. Any weird visual things in the engine bay could just be attributed to issues that occured when trying to tamper with the ECU for reflash, and all performance related issues could be blamed on the flash.

So would I pay 1500 for a chip that gave me 400whp? Yes, if I wasn't sitting here waiting for my fuel pump to die.

Would I pay 2000 for a chip that gave me 330whp? After I stabbed myself in the foot for still having a relatively slow 3er compared to my E90post peers.

Would I pay 2500-3500 to be able to be warranty-proof AND have all the power of the big boys... Definitely

The price wasnt there when the thread was made. They edited with it.

THis will sell well since Dinan has a good reputation and love the idea of not having their warranty voided.

Peace of mind comes at a price. Granted I wouldnt get it.

I dont understand why they wont warranty it past 50k. I paid for an extended 100k warranty directly thru BMW, it covers everything just like the standard warranty, so why shouldnt Dinan?

That pisses me off too. I was hoping we could at least pay another fee on top of the $1999.00, but the sales representative said they wouldn't do it.

If you pay Dinan more they might extend their warranty to 100k also.

So I wonder if the new Dinan flash will make the car less susceptible to heat induced limp? Heat dissipation has always been Dinan's concern. Maybe Dinan figured out a tune that keeps the engine from overheating so quickly? If so it would easily be worth the 2K, especially for the tracking guys.

what are you calculating, 15% tax?

probably closer to 150 in tax but what I am curious about is how many labor units they will charge to do the reflash?

I am really curious as to the dyno results. So who will be the first to try it out and post the actual dyno numbers...

I should add, if they were conservative in the numbers (which I doubt) and it made closer to 350 WHP and 380 WTQ, it would be intriguing.

For $2300 out of my pocket, I get ~20 more HP ?

Well this is interesting. Numbers are higher than i thought they would be and the price is right around where i expected.

Might actually consider this over a Turbo Tuner.

Then again, thats a 2000+ dollar difference, considering i dont have the oil cooler, thanks to BMW hiding it in the 18" wheel package.

yeah its 1999 but remember it before taxes so yes its just a price of the reflash but remember the tax that still not included in the price..that sucks in my book..too expensive...i rather have something with more power, the only hassle is taking it off and on between dealer service
