Jerky Transmission/Automatic Gearbox Upgrade

Hi guys,

-2008 e92 335i Automatic-

I'm getting this weird shake/jerk when upshifting from 1st to 2nd under hard acceleration.
The gearbox seems to hang and doesn't no what gear to take.
The car cruises fine in every other gear, just a bit violent when you accelerate hard from a stand still.
No fault codes/error lights anywhere and the gearbox oil/pan where changed about 20,000kms ago.

I am planning on changing mechatronics solenoids and seals, and new oil/pan again.
Anyone have any advice or suggestions?
Also would be inclined at gearbox upgrades/rebuilds as I do plan on running more power in the future.

Thanks

You could try resetting adaptations but that's like opening pandora's box (iirc you need to do a 200-300km drive-in procedure that ideally should be done on a dyno). Other than that, I don't think there's anything else you can do beyond what you've suggested.

Not too sure on the availability of BMW ZF6 rebuild kits here in Oz, you may want to keep an eye out for a lower mileage transmission for sale or look into retrofitting a 6HP26/28 from a 335d (only sold overseas) or an XR6T, but I think these transmissions just aren't any good if they haven't had fluid changes done by 80k or so. I think someone in Adelaide has one for sale with about 80k km on it though, as he recently manual swapped his car and posted about it in here.

Hope this helps!

Check if there are any ATF seepage around the transmission pan. The lifeguard 6 atf fluid could be underfilled which can cause violent jerking shifts.
