One of the major complaints with the phone from others is the low earpiece volume. There are options to hack the phone to increase the factory set volume range.
Also the fact that you can ONLYstore one telephone number per name....huge let down...that means it stores numbers straight on SIM card....

If you do not want the W800i...check out the SE K750i, they're long lost brothers....but its really nice...my dad got that.

The problem with those phones is they are Euro spec tri-band. Therefore, they only work on the US 1900 network, and not the newer and better 850.

The RAZR and the unlocked/Cingular GSM Treo are Quadband so they work on the two US networks and the two Europe ones.

I'm sure we will see US versions of these phones after some time.

That's right, if you guys want to buy one of those phones, be aware that you need to have a T-Mobile account, Cingular is now mostly using 850.

Address book does not download, but works fine other than that. I have the 7290, but considering the Treo 650 in the near future.

Vertu Phones

Has anyone setup a Vertu phone yet ? Don't want to spend that kind of money and find it does not work in the car.

Actually I see GSM850 a fair amount when I'm using a T-Mo SIM as well. For Cingular quad-band is absolutely necessary, but it helps T-Mo as well.

The Cingular RAZR2 V9 is a great featurephone but it feels a little biggish to me. If your major objections to the RAZR v3 were phonebook and sound quality, both issues are fixed in spades on the RAZR v3xx.

If you're going after features, you'd be hard pressed to get better than the Nokia N95, which is now available with GSM850 and UMTS850/1900 for the US market. Or if you don't care about 3G, you could go iPhone. It works swimmingly with my E92 bluetooth and the MOST iPod adapter, though I did get it to crash once.

FWIW, after a little over a year I'm still carrying a V3xx.

Sprint HTC Mogul works. Address book, signal strength, etc. No problems so far but do the latest firmware upgrade.

I use a Samsung I-730 pocket pc phone. Bluetooth works perfectly. Entire Outlook address book downloaded. It synchs with Outlook contacts on my laptop and desktop PC. I believe that the new I-760 is now available from Verizon.

Doesn the N95 have full functionality? Do contacts sync?

I was reading that its only limited.

Does anyone know if the Nokia N82 fully works?

I have a good friend who has a Vertu......man those are sweet phones. They start at about $4,000 USD though. But hey, if you're that materialistic, you better have a Yacht to go with the phone He happens to have an M6 so i know it pairs properly. I actually even dropped it once and damn.....not a problem at all. It weighs a much as a tank is feels bulletproof, not to mention the jewels behind every button. Nuts. Happy shopping bro! www.vertu.com

honestly i still think its worth it. Your gonna have to look somewhere other than the road to flip through numbers so why not just pick up your phone and get into the phone book real quick.

The N73 will not synch with the E46 either. I've had to get a 6230i to get compatibility; this is a real nuisance.

has anybody tried one of the CECT phones with the bluetooth? I just ordered the "i-clone" and am wondering if it'll work. They are all over on ebay, I got the A380i model. I'm guessing it won't transfer the phone book over but who knows.
