I think you misunderstood when you install the front control arm set. You will gain some negative camber and the toe settings will be out of spec. when you get an alignment the toe settings will be back to factory settings. The camber will not, which is good. I got .07 degrees of negative camber and tire wear is even.

I've got the m3 control arm set along with Dinan fixed camber plates and the combo gets me -2.5 camber on the fronts.

Would you say a ZSP E9x with M3 control arm set with non-RFT's in par with E46 when it comes to steering feel and feedback? God I love early E46's when it comes to steering!!!!

I've spent way too much money on my E90 trying to get that steering and handling feel of my old E46

It's been 5 yrs, so it's hard to answer your question. I'd say not quite but close. If you haven't bought tires yet, get non rfts' w/pretty stiff sidewalls like PSS.

If you remove the strut top pin, there is a very small amount of camber adjustment available from the factory.

As stated many times on this forum, there is no difference. On the TRW arms that I got, the M logo was actually ground off (presumably as part of an agreement with BMW not to market M logo products except through BMW).

TRW makes the BMW branded arms, FYI.

The DIY is literally nothing more than:

1: jack up car/jackstands etc/take off tire
2: support knuckle with jack, raise it to normal driving position
3: remove fender liner (its like 4 of those little coarse thread screws) so you can get to tension arm bolt
4: unbolt tension arm, get nut off ball joint
5: unbolt wishbone, get nut off ball joint
6: get the ball joints out of the knuckle
7: reverse steps to reinstall new parts, taking care to torque the chassis-end of the arms with the arms up in the normal ride-height position. Do the headlight rod in here somewhere on the drivers side.

Lower car, go get an alignment, the end
