Pictures of my new wagon
As I finally figured out how to post pictures from Flickr, here are a few of my '11 e91. Pretty basic, RWD, 6spd, Value Pkg, Premium Pkg, Cold Weather, Harman/Kardon and Sat radio, roof rails. Tasman on Chestnut.
I ordered her on 2/26 for a 7/29 European Delivery. Picked up at BMWWelt in Munich, and went to Stuttgart, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Hamburg and Amsterdam. 2600 miles in Europe. Dropped off in Amsterdam 8/11, and re-delivered in Maine 9/26. A few mods and accessories - already installed the Euro light switch and seatbacks with the storage nets. Came with the warning triangle and first aid kit. Have painted reflectors, split armrest, console back with trays and power ports, mud flaps, underhood insulation, and sundry other stuff on order. Trying to undo some of the '09+ cost cutting. I swapped the shift knob (ZHP with plain 6spd insert) while it was still on the turntable at the Welt! Record for time to first mod? B. I live in Maine, where the roads start at horrendous and go downhill from there. Frost heaves are no fun at all in a sport pkg car here. It is PLENTY stiff and low enough as it is. If I could have gotten the seats without the stiffer suspension and staggered wheel sizes I probably would have anyway. It would be incentive to go on a diet and get my fat @ss to the gym! |

As much as I love the RWD Volvos, and I have owned nine of them, the FWD Volvos don't do much for me. Saab always did FWD much, much better. I'm too much of a cheapskate to even consider AWD. Snow tires are all that is needed to make it through the winter here. |

Does this mean you got pre-March-price-increase pricing with the '11 model clearance deals? |

I have had my e46 in wagon 5 speed manual, some time ago.
After I sold it I thought that I would not go back to a wagon AGAIN.... Little did I know, now a few years later I got back to it.... E91 wagon black stick navi, sport, M-package, I don't know but; there is something in that car that no matter what you drive after it, you always go back. It is not the roomiest ( I just got in the E91 form GL320 CDI, so I know ) but, there is this X factor that can not be captured, and I tried VOLVO ( for life ) well,,,, it just does not cut it for me. One BMW mechanic once told that if you will ONCE drive a BM'er you WILL always come back to it..... in my case he was right Cheers ! |

DEFINITELY do Euro Delivery if you ever can - it was an amazing experience. Well worth the money, though for me it was pretty much a wash with the discount as I travel for a living and have FF miles and hotel points to burn. |

The Volvo in the background is a '93 965 - 2.9l 201hp inline 6 - it is not a lot slower than the 328i once you get past the tall first gear, but it sure doesn't go around corners as well. The little black tail in the garage is an '86 Alfa Spider, and in front of it out of sight is a '74 Triumph Spitfire. Pretty place, York Harbor, I know it well! |

Congrats on the new wagon! I'm quite partial to them myself.
How come it took 5 months from order to Euro Delivery? Also, would you mind posting a better pic of your ZHP shift knob? I'm trying to decide between that and the M shift knob. |

I don't know why, but I have ALWAYS been a fan of wagons. When all my buddies in hghschool were talking about there dream civics and accords to modify (I went to highschool from 93-97', the very tip of the rice movement. yes, i did have a civic with a straight pipe exhaust and 5" tip. lol) I was the only one who wanted a wagon. Mid 90's accord wagon to be exact.
Love your car, congrats! |
