Friendly reminder now that summer is over

Be sure to check your tire pressures now that the temps have fallen. With the RFT, you can't just see if your tires need air. I checked mine this morning and there was at least a 3psi difference from where I set them last month.

Don't forget, when you adjust your tire pressure, make sure you reset your TPMS!

great reminder!

BTW, don't forget to check your toaster as well. My temp. setting was off a couple of degrees due to the weather and I almost burned a bagel...

What if u have after market tires and rims? Should the psi be the same as listed on the car even tho the rims and tires are different sizes?

The owners manual lists psi for different sizes and if the exact ones are not there, pick the closest one and adjust slightly, if necessary.

Why do you need to reset it? I had a low tire warning this morning and when I filled the tires, the orange tire changed back to green and there were no more tire pressure warnign symbol.

Thanks!

Yeah, bagels like english muffins are tough ones....you don't want them under or over toasted.

I guess (and only a guess) that if you don't have any warnings than you are good to go. I will reset mine since I am so freakin anal, I want everything to be in compliance..

Thanks! I'll just leave it alone, since the last time I had low pressure on one side and refilled it, the color changed from yellow to green on it's own. It might be because of the new program? Anyways, my philosophy is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. lol!

Haha My tire warning signal went off this morning too, but mine was red. i thought I had a hole in my tire. I was going to make a service appointment tomorrow. After reading through this, I guess it makes sense now. I Just filled it up an hour ago.

Well, funny you should say something. My car sat around since friday night without being used and this morning, I turned her on and sure enough, the TPS went off and I found my left front tire was off by a few pounds.

Good call Steve!

The MINI was down 5-7 PSI on all 4 corners last week when I did the seasonal check. Didn't get chance to check the E90 yet, but will tonight.
