Had A 330 For The Weekend
Okay fellas, had a 330 for the weekend......buddy went out of town said, hey take care of my ride........and open her up she's been neglected....all I can say, is damn ....I haven't had the pleasure of the 335 and to be honest with ya....I don't need it..the 335 is pure over kill, but it must be sweet, and yep I'd buy one....the 330 impressed me.....good gawd, the engine is so silky smooth I mean it's almost demonic, how smooth that engine is..only thing I didn't care for was how the engine kinda wines at low revs while your in sport mode....but dang get her running and it's like butter on hot bread, just melts...I mean I had to share this with you guys....the tranmission and response of the gears are evil, I was running at about 35mph and man got a break in traffic...and slammed it..no hiccups, not nasty down shifts....I know now what the supreme being drives and I bet it's the M3......for the 3 series to be an "ENTRY LEVEL" car......I can only imagime the hate in those other car companys think tanks..it's like Michael Jordan on the court, you know he's the best and aint a damn thing you can do about, except hope he's on your team.

I'm very content with the 330i. I think it's human nature to always want something quicker and faster. Do you have roads there in Japan where you can really open it up?

+1 for the 330 club, although that extra big punch from the turbos would be nice... ehh F it, in three years the next ride will be the m3

I agree 100%. For 90% of the driving that most of us will do, the 330i will do just fine. When I purchased my car, my practical side took over and I decided against buying an E46 M3.
But I must admit, power is VERY addictive. When the 335i was released, I refused to test drive one. Now that there is a new M3 coming soon, I will have to use even more willpower. Though, the E92 M3 may be too much of a temptation.

I've always thought the 330 was fast--hell I feel like my 328i is fast.

It's all relative, doncha know (I'm not from MN, just like that expression )? For where I am on the totem poll of cars, the 328i is blast. And, yes, smooth as silk. -Dan

Well,
I post about my current situation. My 330i is in for a dented rim due to a pot hole. Thankfully, when I purchased the car we got the Road Hazard Warranty that covers such a thing. Anyways, it is probably going to be awhile since they have to order one rim. Well, my dealership provided me a 335i for the meantime. Damn..........She's a beast. Yes, my 330 is fast. But the 335 is stoopid fast. The car already had 6k on it so I have been driving the thing like I stole it. I'd write more, but I'd take too long.

It's funny. Everyone's talking about how fast the 335i is and I have yet to actually open her up from a standstill. I got to do it some day. I've had it since Oct. I usually floor it from a roll.
