Wastegate rattle/ Dealer software ?.?

So i took my car in for the wategate rattle problem. its a e92 2007/04 CPO 39k. All the dealer did was install the new software to fix it. Now i am a little upset that's all they did With The lawsuit warranty about to expire, how can i get this the actuators or turbos replaced ? the noise did go away but i hear some people having issues with it after a few thousand miles again. I would hate to be stuck out of warranty with this problem .. any suggestions? i am in the Dallas area if anyone knows a good SA that could maybe help me?

That's the thing , I can hardly hear it now . What Do I show up to the dealer with ? Is there some other symptoms of the waste gate/ actuators/ turbos I could bring up to get them to look at the whole turbo setup?

The problem is... no matter what you do, it'll come back... I've had the software reflash, I've had the actuators changed, I've had the tubos changed, and then I've had the wastegates adjusted... rattling still comes back. In the end, it's really just not worth the trouble and this is something that a lot of 335i owners are just going to have to suck up...

My plan is just to deal with it for a couple more years and then upgrade the turbos once that technology solidifies and gets more milage on it... I think that's the only way. In the mean time, you can try various tricks that people on this forum have done... the C-Clip, the Mr.5 fix, etc...

you get an Extended warranty of 12 months of service for the wastegate issue due to a lawsuit of the "defective" part. my car is about to be 5 years old. 4 years of warranty and 1 extended for this issue.

BMW is a funny company .They built a car with just one issue after the other .As far as the wastegate goes ,it stupid how they can't solve the problem .It only took them 4 years to figure out the fuel pump issue and that's it even 100% fixed. They try to out do them selves with direct injection and other high tec crap that's problem in the end.I would go back to the dealer and say hey,I bought a BMW And it shouldn't rattle like a ford fiesta ! Demand for new turbos pronto before the warranty expires .gl!

They do know the wastegate problem butr it is cheaper to deal on a case by case rather than a recall. Fuel pumps are the same. If they do a recall they have to replcae all of them in every car in all models that use them(1,3,5). That is a metirc shit ton of cars.
If they extend the warranties, they look like they are doing something for the public eye, and then they do it on a case by case basis for those that fit under the warranty stipulations(age, mileage, no mods etc.) and whose owners bring them in.
Which looks like it would cost them less?
